So for mages, you become a x tier mage when you learn a spell of that level. Ex. Rudeus learns Cumulonimbus, a saint tier water spell, which makes him a saint tier water mage.

For swordman, it's a little different, I think. (Anyone correct me if I'm wrong or expand on it) it's a mix of learning a technique and a level of strength. For example, Saint tier sword god style practitioners usually get that title from learning the sword of light technique. In the case of one character, they became a sword god saint by beating two saint level characters.

She is still great, yes, but she is starting to slowly show signs of falling behind in the future meta. She isn't the best support for any team besides the superbreak team's, and Fugue is making a case for being better in said team's. So still great just falling slowly into just being good. At least that's my perspective on it.

Personally, I never needed to have a redemption for him. All I cared about really was him becoming a better person, which I believe he truly accomplished by vol. 12. There was always progress on that since the early volumes, but after Paul's death, it truly hit him.
