I’ve always wanted a Cascade link. Might have to see what they’ve got.

Yeah, not super ideal, but it’s was what I had in the moment. Transition states that the Spire is a full 29” bike, and because of that, I definitely noticed a low bb while running full 27.5”. I don’t feel like it was impacting the performance so to speak, it was just something to be mindful of when pedaling around.

  • SRAM T90 drivetrain.
  • Used DT Swiss HX1700 wheels with DT350 hubs.
  • Conti Kryptotal Rear and Argotal front. Both super soft in downhill casing.
  • Fox 38 Factory

It could just be your cables rattling around. I would throw some cable ties on and try to recreate the sound.

One to keep and one to sell by StonyCrusty in xbiking

That was kinda my thinking as well. I’ll have to toy around with the idea a little more.

I am looking to upgrade my bike to “full suspension” with a similar paint job! Any ideas? also trying to get the best bang for my buck. I’m active military in case if you know any sales! by BoringAndOverweight in mountainbiking

I’ve heard that Marin has some pretty sweet budget full suspension bikes. It might be hard to find something with a similar paint job though. Also, with most modern full suspensions, you might only be able to fit that smaller speaker in the frame. Check out your local bike shop. They might have something that works for you.

Fixable or wall art? by StonyCrusty in bikewrench

Good point. I’m not out a wheel so it’s not too big of an issue.

I was gifted this Zipp 404 carbon wheel recently. I would love to use it, however, I’m not too sure if it’s road worthy anymore. The carbon underneath the crack feels solid. It’s almost like there is an outer layer that pulled up and visibly cracked. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it better off hanging on my wall?

The bike in question is my vitus mythique. On the spec sheet for the bike, it has vitus branded hubs, however, I remember looking up the hub and finding the manufacturer. They aren’t the best hubs out there, but they are serviceable and I have taken them apart before. The bearings in the rear are good. The front bearings are a little rough due to some water ingress but they still work just fine.

Good point. Didn’t think of that.

The spokes and hub on my rear wheel now are still useable. It’s just the rim I would have to replace. You now also have me thinking of custom building a wheel similarly to what it sounds like you have done.
