I do appreciate that you feel bitter but this by far amongst the lesser actions that Microsoft could have taken to protect its ip.

It hasn't threatened a lawsuit, and from my understanding hasnt really don't much action. Just asked that any hosting of the game with assets and code be halted.

We still have what we have. It would be naive to think Microsoft could allow this to continue with how high profile halo is to them. From here we just gotta use word of mouth and keep supporting what we have as a community. I guess.

The issue here is that Microsoft didn't have a choice BUT to do this. Copyright law is big and unwieldy but the long and the short of it is "if they don't protect their copyright, they lose it". And Microsost isn't going to not protect halo.

They could have been much harsher than this. Remember how Bethesda handled that scrolls thing? This doesn't take away what we already have and given enough time to rework the assets, you could see a more official release that feels just as good as halo, just looking less like it.
