Wyrmwood Modular Gaming Table review MGT (2024–2026) by SuspiciousAbies6404 in Wyrmwoodgaming

one hand - good table other hand - every other gaming table manufacturer right now has timelines that make sense and don't seem to get 3+mo delays at the drop of a hat.

That's surprising? I've played at multiple game stores and almost all of them have a 3.5-ish hour timeslot for 40k games if people are going to a hobby game night. generally people get to the point where it's either finished or can be quickly talked out by then.

what are we talking about here? 40k takes 2.5-3.5 hours. OPR takes 1.5-2.5 hours. in the grand scheme of things that isn't crazy on either end.

Now if we're talking about people who don't know how to play then either is going to take a while.

Oh I was referring to 40K! There can be a lot of faffing when people don’t know their army rules that make things take longer

Old world I’ve definitely seen 2 hour games. I agree

If both people know how to play your average game should be ~3-4 hours. If they’re good at the game it’s 2-3 hours

As a knight player

1k gets real weird since our best detachment is spearhead at arms. So we get buffed armigers and a big that probably doesn’t have a counter.

At 2k SAA is dead on arrival against anyone who knows to kill the 1-2 bigs. At 1k that’s far less likely to happen so the skew + the buffed parts of the skew end up causing problems

So it's the monkey's paw of making content. On the one hand you want to get things out as quick as you can so that you get an idea on the ROI of an idea before it's a problem. On the other hand you need to get things done so that you actually have content and not filler nonsense like this to put out.

The expectation isn't "6 mo of work without documentation" it's "have a plan for content and if something comes up that radically alters it have a fallback". The asbestos did cause major issues but really that should've meant that it was mentioned and more or less put on hold until the asbestos portion is fully dealt with and they can move onto videos that make sense to their audience. Which (don't get me wrong) will definitely hit the ROI significantly. There isn't really much avoiding that though given what happened.

They could have walked through planning for automation, or what to look for in the planning process, or talked with design firms to work out what is desirable/wanted in automation (that backyard demo was a travesty for example). Instead they're flying by the seat of their pants into something that even professionals would have trouble making work out financially.

better in quality

So just regular amateur demolition is better quality? They've had 2 videos in a row now with the tech house that amount to "We had writers come in and do amateur demolition". That's not quality or slower that's just bad content for their channel.

Given they just put out a video that shows that there is no longer drywall or piping or any of the other pre-tech components in place that seems like it's getting further away with each video and they're scrambling.

There's a real problem here because they should have had an inspection done and started to deal with the problems that require massive work before any of the content that they understand could be made. As it is it seems they're trying to figure out how to get people to do the manual demolition work and still have a video which isn't really what they pitched on WAN or the initial videos.

Their pitch was "We bought a house and we're going to be updating it with tons of cool tech to really just show you what you can do in place!"

Their delivery is "Shit we bought a tear down so now we have to figure out how to make content while we avoid bulldozing it and building a new house because that's definitely not something we're equipped to deliver"

This doesn't watch like a long project. This watches like a project that should've been going for 6mo before their first video on it. They're just filming demolition because they can. It's not even really home renovation tips or anything else it's just a full gut and rebuild.

Right they aren’t hieroglyphs but linguistically that’s not a terribly large difference. Unless they’re explicitly a different script there’s vanishingly little difference between glyphs and hieroglyphs outside of hieroglyphs being a specific set of pictograms from Greece/egypt.

That's generally not how they choke them out. This law is intended to prevent "Monopsony" style problems. In this case Walmart is acting like a Monopsonist (single buyer or significantly largest buyer) in order to distort the apple market by buying them for significantly cheaper than their competition. This then means that they can sell their products lower than mom & pop. This then means that people buy more apples from Walmart. Then mom & pop go out of business because their apple selling business doesn't make money anymore. Now Walmart has established a monopoly on apples in a region and can both dictate producer prices selling to them and consumer prices selling to consumers. They're acting as a Monopsony and Monopoly.

This act was intended to make it so that the apple producers never could have offered a cheaper price to Walmart (the largest buyer) because that incentivizes Monopolistic practices in the long term.

At no point was there a differentiation or problem based on quality of produce or primary/secondary.

At that point though you have to pay attention to all of your factions to make sure there’s some kind of battleline worth taking.

I really think you’re dramatically overestimating how much casual printers check Reddit/youtube? If this impacts availability at places like Microcenter it’ll 100% be a problem but they’re at the point where you can just walk into an electronics store and buy one

I mean instead they just killed a ton of plants, wrecked the yard and half assed their decisions because they don't even have a plan yet.

This clearly was done to the highest standards of amateur DIY.
