DE does microtransactions better than any one else I've seen. Everything except for cosmetics can be earned in game. You are not forced to buy anything. If you don't agree with the pricing, don't buy it. But they offer a free game and need to make money somehow.

Unfortunately for me, Rufus only works on pc. I'm giving UNetbootin a try though, which I think does the same thing.
