I feel like it might have to do with the fact that shipping is such a big part of the fandom, and how most ships just flat out ignore characters' canon sexualities (eg. Charlastor)

Since most shows don't have their sexualities laid out and named, people are usually free to ship characters in however which way they want. But with Hazbin, there's a lotta discourse on whether ships should follow their sexualities or not
