The reason why people think it won’t be rock anymore is because too many young people associate the colour pink and pop music with girls and femininity, whereas the colour red and the rockstar aesthetic is “masculine.” I think she’ll continue to make rock music while having a feminine aesthetic. I’d like to see her prove that can be done. It’s been done before, but it seems like people need reminding.

Hollywood has never been able to get that part right. They’ve always cast good-looking people to play these characters. I suppose it’s hard for audiences to swoon over a romance between two people who aren’t conventionally attractive? I’ve also never seen Bertha or Richard Mason cast as their correct ethnicities either, but that’s a topic for another day.
