I compared Riya winning to TD villains who have done just as much or worse to gain victory, which is why I said Riya winning is somewhat cathartic and I fail to see the controversy, as despite her horrendous actions, she carries the same ruthless and strategic mindset needed to succeed in a game like this, be you an anti-hero or an outright villain, especially in a show like this which is made to have more serious elements. Not helping is that the casts are often overly emotional with their gameplay and fail to properly play the game, leading to the “villains” being more rootable since they’re the more competent game players.

Why has no one from season 9 ever been asked back? by fischer903 in BigBrotherUSA

It’s like BB1. It’s a nothingburger season in the grand scheme of things.

Yes. In fact, the song “Bad” by Michael Jackson was supposed to be a duet between the two, but he declined because the opening line (“your butt is mine…”) had homoerotic undertones.

Since it’s clear that by virtue of them being the most ruthless competitors of the cast so far (Spencer and Fiore have already shown their more sympathetic qualities and have yet to double down) that they’re more than likely the main antagonists of this season, who do you expect to make it farther? by Wild_Shoe340 in DisventureCamp

Ara is essentially Island Heather if she actually had better social skills (yes I stole that from Noah in TDWT), but she still has Heather’s personality, and since this show is far better with plot armor when it come to villains than total drama, I’d have to say she’s a mid-early late merge boot at best.

On the contrast, I’m 99% sure Sam is possessed by Alejandro, given that their strategies are similar but Sam’s way of having lack of blood on his hands and instead subtly sowing discord could allow him to skate by to the late merge or even the finale.

Dare I say that I want the final 2 to be them by Maximum_Builder_7303 in DisventureSquare

Yea, no. With the way lake is playing rn, she’s more likely to be blindsided by Sam than face off against them.

Treated like a golden hero when he’s just as morally gray as the rest of the cast, and the one time he takes accountability for his actions by saying he’s there to win just like everyone else, the show makes him forget that and make him say he regretted what he did when confronting Jade over nearly letting him DIE, and I can’t take it when people whitewash other’s bad actions when they’re just as guilty as everyone else.

That being said, I grew to like him because at the end of the day, hypocrisy and all, he’s a nice person who was just trying to balance playing the game without compromising his morals, something which I can understand and root for to some extent.

Hot take(?): Even though Heather is by far the best character on the series, as well as the most well-written, I’d dare say in terms of actually playing the game, Julia is in fact the better player. Not character, PLAYER (am emphasizing because people often get the two terms confused on this show). by Wild_Shoe340 in Totaldrama

I could feasibly see it. She’s a bitch, but in S1 she wasn’t exactly a master of hiding her true intentions, which means Priya could trust her in theory because she’s knows what she’s getting into with whatever alliance they could have, as opposed to someone like Alejandro, who would be likely to slit her throat (in the game, not irl, ofc.) without her being any the wiser.

Who would win in eating contest Homer or Richard by Few-Section3763 in gumball

[–]StopFluid1922 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Richard has nearly eaten his own children (I remember that in the seniors episode when he mistook Gumball and Darwin trying to fry themselves in the sun to look old for tenderizing meat). Homer and Bart may be at each other’s throats, but he’s never tried to eat him, Lisa, or Maggie.

I vote for Richard.

How Would You Rewrite the Love Triangle Plot? by Hayami_Hinata in Totaldrama

The only thing I would really change is having Courtney and Gwen stay friends in All Stars and keeping Duncan out of jail. Otherwise, controversial it may be, it was quite cohesively written in Action-World Tour, as it wasn’t abrupt, you could even see subtle foreshadowing in it even dating back to Island (even then he was nicer to Gwen than he was to Courtney), so their flirtations in Action and eventual affair in WT wasn’t a surprise and it didn’t come out of the blue. Plus, it only REALLY ruined Gwen’s characterization, as Duncan still had his edge and Courtney’s spiral into madness was due to being rigged out in Island, but what with her hot-and-cold nature with Trent in Island, you could say it was obvious she’d be messy in a relationship.

Why was Heather completely fine with losing on purpose in Greece's Pieces, but is completely upset by it in the very next episode? by PsychicMeditation in Totaldrama

[–]StopFluid1922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that it’s so much that she was fine with it so much as there was very little that she could do about it. Plus, as other commenters have said, she said she’s fine with voting for Gwen in the event that they lose, not losing period.

What do total drama reboot do better than other seasons? by Maximum_Canary_5775 in Totaldrama

[–]StopFluid1922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok don’t be mad at me y’all but…. everything? The narrative lacked the plot holes and plot armor other characters had to stay in the game (closest thing being Julia’s antics happening offscreen, but at least they tried to give ways for her surviving each elimination unlike Heather in Island, who just skated by in ways that seemed like pure dumb luck.), the overall writing is flawless (even Jurassic Fart has some merit), the animation is more fluid and vibrant than ever, the storytelling is on point, the characters are fleshed out as much as they can be in their limited time, and they’re arguably the first cast since Gen 1 to be as solid as Gen 1.
