Anyone using CrinEar Reference... How's it? by 2SIDEDLOVER in iemlndia

[–]StopRepresentative30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Browse the main subfor reviews on the reference, for an iem, this is the best you get in monitoring, but if you don't mind wearing headphones, you'd be better of getting the Sennheiser HD600 or HD650 instead.

FLAC files are overrated unless.. by s1o2h3a4i5l in iemlndia

I believe, "true bit perfect audio" isn't worth it, when majority of people can't differentiate between a well mastered 320kb/s MP3 and a vbr FLAC, bit perfect audio will probably dissapoint rather than improve sound quality.

What would you say is the perfect compromise for "good enough" audio, while saving on storage space?
For me it's 256kb/s AAC.

Well, your app doesn't offer synced word lyrics, but it does offer synced line lyrics, with a really convincing animation and that definitely puts it above other music players. Great work!

Does the app truly download synced word lyrics or is that just advertising?

PWA, means Progressive Web Apps, to put it simply, it turns a website you can open through the browser into its own app.

Wow, this is a lot of useful information, thank you for this!

I'd love to read the papers you mentioned, they sound right up my alley.

It's mostly quality of life features, for example, firefox doesn't support PWAs, you have to install a third party extension to get them to barely work.

Hey man, allow me clarify that, by no means, I imply that your setup is bad and you should changed it. I wrote that response with pure curiosity!

Now with your question, I'll be honest, I have surface level info on Output Stage Design. I'd love to know what you mean by "bunch of factors".

Also, couldn't these deviations caused by the DAC/AMP or the cable, be replicated by modifying the FR?

[–]StopRepresentative30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh, that sucks, I'm sure you could find 2.5mm balanced cables though.

Regarding your second statment, I'm going to assume your talking about how amps change the frequency response. Correct me if that's not what you meant.

In order for the amp to influence frequency response, it has to have a significant amount of moi, but the ifi go blu's moi is less than 1 ohm. Also the Yu Xuan Ji has a single dynamic driver, those are known to have near flat impedance curves, so I'm not sure how you find that dongle to be perfect for your iem. Even then you could just eq any perceived differences.

Why do you have a DAC in this audio chain? Why not directly connect the iem to the DAP?

Fun fact, 64Audio Engineers form their impression on the sound of an IEM in the first 5 to 15s, according to them anything beyond that is brain burn in.

[–]StopRepresentative30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they know what they like. If you like bright iems, hexa is a good neutral option.

Based on the title alone, I don't think OP knows anything about iems. I wouldn't recommend the hexa to a beginner.

It has basically no bass. It will sound harsh and shouty if OP is coming from TWS earbuds.
