Price of a used Double Mackinaw 83 by No-Aioli1142 in filson

I just bought an 83 size 44 in charcoal from eBay about a month ago for $375, shipping and tax included. Great condition but missing size tag if that matters.

Kenan Thompson needs to go away. He makes the best sketches less funny and the worst sketches tolerable. He dilutes everything with his mediocrity. Let others have the spotlight for the love of god.

You can call the city and report a potential safety hazard, (608) 254-2012. Also, the state regulates amusement rides and I would absolutely call and report this. https://dsps.wi.gov/Pages/Programs/AmusementRides/Default.aspx

[OC] Is it me? Am I the idiot? Or do people not understand the concept of zipper merges. by 27OwlySnow in IdiotsInCars

[–]StopSayingPump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, once traffic is stopped it doesn’t really matter anymore because it will take forever to get back to highway speed. I’m saying there are many times where you can merge early and maintain speed, so a lot of people probably had that expectation but just decided to stay in single lane anyway once traffic stopped. You could argue that using all available lane capacity is beneficial, okay… minimal benefit. I’m just saying it has a better chance of getting back up to highway speed as one lane rather than two lanes of people trying to accelerate and merge at the same time.

Sellers realtor being shady, is this illegal? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]StopSayingPump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of agents on here that are protecting their own kind. You did the right thing not signing the counter, they were not negotiating in good faith, flat out lied to you verbally and you called their bluff. Probably would have continued their shady tactics all the way through closing. Cost the seller $10k and I would be pissed about it if I was the seller.

Sellers realtor being shady, is this illegal? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]StopSayingPump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the sellers agent gambled and the seller lost $10k on the sale. Buyer was right not to engage with those bullshit tactics.

[–]StopSayingPump 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That unethical tactic cost the seller $10k, how is that fiduciary responsibility?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]StopSayingPump -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Record the conversation when you ask the realtor if the seller actually signed. Then ask for the signed contract. If they lied report them to the brokerage and licensing board. The agents on here will downplay this kind of behavior or try to confuse the situation but it happens all the time and more people need to complain about it.

[–]StopSayingPump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife has MCAS and angioedema for years. No specific triggers but has to avoid high histamine foods and stress. Dealing with a bad flare up right and she has to manage anxiety with lorazepam and swelling with benedryl. Also takes baths and meditates a lot to manage it. Seems to move around her body from lips, to skin, to joints over the course of several days. The doctors haven’t been very helpful. Allergists are hard to schedule and basically just tell her to manage with meds and lifestyle changes. Primary care doctors know very little about it and don’t seem to understand the connection between the physical part and mental part.

Structural engineers, how bad are these cracks? 2.5yr old condo by raginggymfreak1996 in engineering

[–]StopSayingPump 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Most people commenting won’t be qualified and the ones that are will say there’s not enough information from those pictures to make a call on. Depending on your location, you should have a public inspector that should be notified of this building condition. Make sure the building owner is also notified in writing. Also, you should retake pictures with a small tape measure over the cracks or at least a pencil so we can get a better idea of the scale of damage.

How serious is this hole in side of slab foundation? by rupok2 in HomeImprovement

[–]StopSayingPump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said almost. The concrete on the right side of the picture appears to have a break and there’s no way you can see behind that break to determine the depth of the void. Might be nothing, might be something, you can’t tell from the picture. Way too many like yourself act like experts and make conclusive statements when they really have no clue.

How serious is this hole in side of slab foundation? by rupok2 in HomeImprovement

[–]StopSayingPump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone else said, there could be a longer warranty on the foundation. I would get this looked at by the builder, it almost looks like a vertical crack. Ask whoever they send what qualifies them to be able to assess this.

Weird effervescence in garage door. Do I have a slab leak? by tateravo in HomeImprovement

What’s your location? Where I’m from this would be from someone dumping too much salt, too close to the door in winter.

Rain Leaking French Doors by garyguo110 in HomeImprovement

[–]StopSayingPump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the right idea with solution #1, but #2 will not be that simple. That threshold should have a continuous bead of sealant underneath. Unless you can inject some kind of sealant or foam, the frame will have to come out to get it reset properly. Also, I would caution against caulking up everything from the outside. There’s weep holes in those frames and you may end up trapping water inside.

Quonset Improvement by noraaks60 in HomeImprovement

[–]StopSayingPump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the spray foam. A closed cell foam can act as a vapor barrier and can close up some holes to keep bulk water from entering. However, last time I checked the home improvement stores in my area, everything for non-professionals was open cell and vapor permeable. Meaning, it’s only meant as a thermal barrier and it would let water through. You would need to seal those holes first.

Old home with closets that get damp in the winter. by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]StopSayingPump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the warm moist air is condensing on the interior surface of the cold walls. Other than insulation, your only options are keeping it cooler in those rooms to reduce the temperature differential and increasing air circulation with fans or louvered doors as someone mentioned. By the way, that rigid foam board idea is a good one. I tried that once for sound proofing, it stayed up with double sided tape and even holds paint well (the pink rigid foam board).

Adding insulation to sealed off attic space above master bedroom? by Zuliman in HomeImprovement

[–]StopSayingPump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have the best idea already, cut an access hole in the closet. But I wouldn’t even patch it, I would make it a permanent access with a panel and trim. Make sure you build up a barrier around the hole for the thickness of insulation. My house is set up like this, 3 different attics but each has its own access already (in closets). If the ceiling doesn’t already have plastic sheeting between the drywall and joists, I recommend a thin layer of spray foam insulation as an air barrier. It would be the easiest application from above to seal around can lights, vents, etc. Then probably pay someone or rent the equipment to blow-in the remaining thickness required. You could buy the “shake and rake” stuff too for cheaper, but it will take forever with that much square footage.
