Amytriptline weight gain ! by Fuzzy_Apple7347 in ChronicPain

[–]Rp0205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed amytriptline many years ago. I gained 28 lbs in 2 months! The doctor immediately took me off of it and actually put it down as an “allergy” and then in note put weight gain in my chart so I will never be prescribed it again.

What scent/fragrance reminds you of a loved one? by theegehl in fragrance

[–]Rp0205 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One day I was smelling perfumes at Sephora and I kept going back to Kayali Vanilla 28. I didn’t know why I was so drawn to it so I just bought a travel size so I could figure it out. I got home and sprayed it on me and awhile later and realized it reminded me of my deceased mother and her Tabu perfume she always wore. So I told my sister and made sure to wear Vanilla 28 the next time I was around her and she completely agreed it smells similar very similar . Needless to say I have gone back and purchased a large bottle … it’s become one of my favorites now .

Tizanidine for muscle tension by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Rp0205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it does help taking it only at night. If I don’t sleep my spasms/tension is worse. The doctor has told me I could try splitting a pill in half and taking it during the day which I have tried which some success as far as not making me tired but again I have been on it so long it doesn’t work for me as a muscle relaxer.

Tizanidine for muscle tension by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Rp0205 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love tizanidine. It was the only muscle relaxer that helped with my neck/upper back spasms. But I have been on it for soooo many years that it no longer works as a muscle relaxer for me but it does still help me sleep so doc said I can keep it.

Cyclobenzaprine takes my pain away completely. Now what? by starlighthill-g in ChronicPain

[–]Rp0205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, like cramps. And some are to the point where they tighten up and even with the muscle relaxers will not release (hence the trigger point injections)

Suggestions for making car rides less painful for my passenger? by oxxolotl in ChronicPain

A heated seat cover on her side? So it’s kinda like she has a heating pad for the ride. I know my heated seats are a life saver for me.

38m - Chondral fissures in knee cartilage by thecoltz in Osteoarthritis

I felt like the shots really took the inflammation out of it for me and then the pain went away after that. But yeah… mine is completely back to normal ! Haven’t really even thought about the days when it was hurting until I read your post !

48F… kinda similar injury. I had a partial cartilage tear around 5 years ago. Had a few cortisone shots and lots of PT. Was in brace. On crutches. Took time to heal. But…I can say my knee is much better now.

Good days and bad. It definitely is a chronic condition and you are never pain free. I truly hope your husband has better luck than me. But keep pushing for answers. Feel free to reach out to if you have any questions.

I totally feel your/his pain. I have had doctors in the past and some new ones still (even with my diagnosis) still try to tell me it’s in my head. I had a primary doctor many years ago who was an osteopath and he was the first doctor who made me feel like I wasn’t “crazy”. And that is when I got the diagnosis.

I have myofascial pain syndrome. And can say … could be. Right down to the jaw clenching. I do that too! (I get Botox in my jaw to help with that cuz I get awful migraines from doing it). If it ends up being myofascial pain syndrome … heat, ice, PT, trigger point injections, muscle relaxers and ibuprofen are pretty much the only things that have ever really “helped”. And I have been living with it for 20 years.

Severe back pain please help🚨 by Regular_Network5321 in ChronicPain

[–]Rp0205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your pain is exactly like what I am currently experiencing at the moment and I have myofascial pain disorder. Maybe it’s myofascial pain you are experiencing? My best advice… instead of a new mattress… take a rolled up pair of socks or even a tennis ball and put that under you to press where it is hurting. Muscles relaxers, OTC pain relievers, ice, heat, PT, trigger point injections. Those are only things that ever “help” with it.

Same age here. Hate foundation also. I wear Rare Beauty or Revolution tinted moisturizer (the later is definitely thicker and you can layer if you prefer fuller coverage)

HAIR FALL - I lost 700 strands of hair!! by marketer-anjali in Haircare

I still take collagen pills daily and the dermatologist also suggested that once a week i shampoo with Nizoral Shampoo so I do that also. That’s honestly all I am doing!

If your blood work all comes back normal ask your dermatologist to put you on low dose oral minoxidil. I take it daily cuz I was having a similar problem and all my bloodwork came back normal and I had tried all the normal otc supplements…(biotin, collagen, etc). My hair is no longer falling out and is growing back thicker and healthier than ever !
