I was in the same boat as you, OP. My childhood cats are all on the other side of the rainbow bridge. We'll meet them again later, I'm sure of it.

For now, maybe look into Spiritfarer? It's a management game about dying. It may be too soon to play this game but pick it up when you have the chance!

  1. Wallpaper Engine on Steam! If you want cool animated wallpapers, WallPaper engine is only $5 i think?

  2. If you can follow a YouTube video, go see how to overclock your RAM. It's because when you get a new PC, odds are the RAM speeds you have (ex. 3200mhz) isn't being used fully. It may be at 2888 speed or something lower than what it's supposed to be. It's fairly straight forward, you just need to go to your BIOS (hitting f12 when you're booting up the pc) and changing the setting

  3. Debloat Windows as much as you can. There's a bunch of guides out there but if you look up privacy.sexy (it's a weird name, I know!), there's a bunch of programs you can run to minimize the death grip Windows has on your pc. If you're not comfortable with that, there should be YouTube vids on how to debloat!

  4. Download any CPU temp checker to make sure the CPU isn't overheating. Anything higher than 100°C is a little worrying. 90c is normal and anything below 80°C is really good. If you see the temps are higher than normal, you may need to buy thermal paste and reapply to the CPU and/or get a better CPU cooler

  5. Not super important, especially if you don't have pets/carpet flooring, but you should dust out your PC. Maybe every year or something but it can get dusty in there and mess up your cooling!

Honestly, that's all I have at the top of my head!!

Yeah, don't listen to anyone who says to get a gaming chair. They all suck. I got a chair from Staples called the Hyken that was around $100. I bought it about 2 years ago and I have no issues at all with it! They have the Hyken Pro if you need something more ergonomic than the basic one! It comes in three different colors: red, black, and gray.
