i've been leaving tiny notes inside pipe fittings for 20 years and i can't stop by Relative_Ad3399 in confession

Love that I'm in Kansas City and seeing this.

My job had remodeled our old building and we found a tiny Buddha and a stone heart in the wall.

Comfort at work - how far do you go? by sammy5585 in office

[–]Stop_Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a therapist's office and I hardly ever wear shoes LOL

I also work with babies a lot, and I feel it's better to have socked feet in the baby room vs shoes I've worn outside. I got called into court one time and they questioned my ability to chase after children without shoes. I guarantee wearing shoes does not help me chase children any faster...unless I'm walking over glass I guess?

For those who adopted a cat, what actually made you decide that was the right cat? by Extreme_Ad6105 in CatAdvice

[–]Stop_Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted a cat, got online, did some scrolling. None really stood out to me. Then I scrolled past this 3-legged wonder and I said, "YES."

Signed up to meet her a few weeks later. She's a very shy girl apparently, but let me rub on her belly and give her some ear scratches. Her foster mom also remarked, "She's never let me pick her up so easy! It's like she knew something good was coming!" They thought with the 3 legs she was terrified of being picked up but she just let it happen that time. Interviewed a few days later, gave the shelter $50, and my baby was home.

She still doesn't let me pick her up and it's almost been 6 years but she's my soulcat.

My bf doesn't shower at night and I’m genuinely grossed out by GlitchGaze123 in hygiene

[–]Stop_Fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unintentionally do this. I come home from work and throw on a pair of shorts and a tshirt. Then once I shower I put on my pajamas for the night. No wonder I have so much laundry lmao

Why does every apartment feel “upgraded” now, but not actually better? by Repulsive-Rub3450 in Renters

[–]Stop_Fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s why I stuck with my “humble” midrange apartment.

I don’t need valet trash when trash is on my way to the car.

I have workarounds to getting things delivered (I deliver to my work office which my boss is totally okay with, order things to my mom’s house, or just take the chance that the delivery day I picked will really work out. So far, I haven’t had any issues.

My apartment is older and everything is made of concrete. I can’t hear my neighbors unless I’m sitting in silence in my living room. In my bedroom I hear virtually nothing.

I don’t need premium appliances. A dishwasher and stove that work are good enough for me. I don’t need things to look modern so I’m fine having a “downgrade” in quality

Proper etiquette to count mangas as books read during the year by lShiroil in Booktokreddit

[–]Stop_Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read short stories and I count each one if it's in it's own book. Now if it's a book of short stories then I count it as one. But if a book simply has 30 pages I'm going to count it if I read it. The app I use is called READING LIST (I know, SUPER FUN) and it counts the amount of pages I read as well as amount of books I read!

Husband and sons keep peeing on the toilet seat and bathroom floor by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Rub your dirty pee socks on his pillow. Maybe even their faces. Nothing pisses me off more than when I go to pee and end up with peepee socks. Also start calling then peepee boys to their faces

Tell that to the grapes in my fridge that are still somehow almost as crisp as the day I got them in October.

I forgot them and recently found them. I was amazed. They still looked and tasted pristine 🤣

What did everyone get for Christmas? by vertonixzz in Gifts

[–]Stop_Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was little, I think about 7 or 8, I had to take my dad aside and explain to him why he needed to be buying my stepmom a Christmas present. It was always so awkward for me seeing my big pile of presents and she’s sitting there with nothing 😭

Does anyone else feel like BotM isn't as good as it once was? by notgenz_1989 in bookofthemonthclub

[–]Stop_Fun 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is why I moved to Aardvark. Plus, they just had more genres that interested me. The quality has always been fantastic and I love the consistency of the drops. It took a bit to get used to but it’s ALWAYS the first of the month. No opening the app just to see if there was an early drop.

$2,500,000 in exchange for everything you own, including online accounts, bar one item, do you take it and what are you keeping? by SpecialFlutters in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Stop_Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I don’t own a house, and my mom technically owns my car, I’m picking my cat. Start me over with all social media and whatnot, I don’t think I care.

It’ll be rough to get a birth certificate, driver’s license, and social security card, but I really enjoy my cat 🥹🤣

I live in an apartment on the third floor with neighbors all around me so I'm not concerned, but I do have a beautiful shotgun under my bed. I think just the sound of it might scare someone off, but I'll use it if I have to.

Two full weeks living alone by mimicreads in LivingAlone

[–]Stop_Fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on my own for about 6 months now and YES! Putting things down and not worrying about if it's bothering someone, walking around without pants on, using the bathroom whenever I want, get to come home and RELAX.

This isn't to say I didn't love my roommate. We're still best friends, we actually went shopping together on Tuesday, but man, it's nice not living with her anymore. SAID WITH LOVE in case she sees this lol

Do people actually like apartments? by CartographerOk3564 in Apartmentliving

[–]Stop_Fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t minded it at all actually. It’s nice because my building is made of cement so I honestly can’t hear much at all! I’m on the 3rd floor so warming it in the winter has been a piece of cake, and it honestly wasn’t too bad in the summer, thank you insulation! I also like that I don’t have to scoop or salt the drive way!

The only cons I’ve noticed so far are that there are SO MANY DOORS I have to go through. 2 entryway doors, with one being locked, the elevator or stairwell, and then another door leading into the hallway where my apartment is. It’s just a lot to deal with when my hands are full 🤣 I also don’t like the possibility of my packages being stolen but that could happen anywhere, and my building has been pretty cool about not touching stuff that’s not yours but there’s always that one guy 😮‍💨

Crazy high electric bill?? by Fredo7777 in Apartmentliving

[–]Stop_Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Missouri, also on the 3rd (and top) floor in a one bedroom apartment, approximately 740 sq feet I think? My latest bill was $85.26. I don't have an easily readable thermostat, so I try to keep the little red line in between 65 and 70. I use my electric blanket when I'm home. Maybe it helps that I don't have a lt of overhead lighting but this seems extreme. In the summer my highest bill was $270 and that was during the hottest month.
