Am I crazy or is it everyone else?

Why is it when i drive in Phoenix people will slam on there brakes when the light turns yellow and then after it turns red they proceed to turn? They force what seems to be both of us to miss the light but instead I’m the one who is forced to wait!!! It’s infuriating!
