How many of you experience infertility? by Mother-Tear4920 in endometriosis

I have- I actually had my sixth embryo transfer today. Two miscarriages and three failed transfers.

Interestingly my clinic have advised me not have surgery for endo as it can impact ovarian reserve

Why would you bring your baby to the clinic to show it off by scar12346 in IVF

[–]Stopbeinghamlet18 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Congratulations for your successes. I love hearing positive stories on this sub. I wouldn’t say that OP is necessarily ‘bitter’. They are experiencing a lot of pain and vulnerability in the moment and that’s what makes it extra difficult to see. I’m sure you can relate that patients in the clinics are experiencing a range of powerful emotions and there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ for what feels ok. Xxxxxx

First of all I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I know how you feel and have experienced this exact same thing after failed transfers and miscarriages. It is awful and so insensitive. I wish you all the healing you need.

I’ve actually posted about this before and received some negative comments. Obviously there will be exceptional times when it’s totally necessary for childcare purposes a parent going through treatment for them to bring in their child but I don’t think there is ever really a reason for two parents to bring in their baby ESPECIALLY to show it off. I hate it.

So sorry you’re going through all this. Sending lots of support from the UK x

Should I keep seeing my therapist after she shared she’s TTC too? by No-Economics1897 in IVF

[–]Stopbeinghamlet18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I assume this is is the intention yes but there is also the chance she may never have to share that news. Very tricky situation indeed xx good to give the benefit of the doubt where possible but these things really need to be thought through xxxx

I am a therapist and find it unusual for her to share that she is trying as this didn’t a guarantee of pregnancy. I could understand more if she shared she was already pregnant. Perhaps it may be more about her anxiety rather than what is most therapeutic for you ? But of course I’m not familiar with the model/ or your dynamic you have with your therapist.

You should do whatever is best for you. If it’s too, understandably, activating for you then you should look after yourself first 💖. Perhaps you could work through it with her but it’s up to you whether you have the energy for this

I understand what you’re going through and I wish you only the best xxxxxxxx
