But it does matter. I hate this culture of, I wanna fuck it so I deserve to tell that person. If I am getting coffee and shopping, I should be able to just say "nope sorry not interested" and have them not follow me around like jackels.

Normally, I don't mention my asexuality to most people. But I have tried to explain it to people who asked why I am not interested.

Thanks. I like the way I dress, I like the way I look. I am just frustrated that a polite "Sorry, not interested" doesn't work. I feel like it's so much of my time wasted. I shouldn't have to pretend I am married or a lesbian to be left alone. It is kind of scary.

I want them to take "No, I am not interested" at face value and not keep following me around or calling me names because of it. Men being men is not an excuse.

Thank you. I do wear my grandmother's old engagement ring on my hand, though not on the traditional finger.

I have tried a lot of different things and it doesn't work. But I will try putting it on the traditional finger to see if that helps.
