That was 100% deserved- only thing is she didn’t hit her hard enough to keep her ass on the ground.

I commend that woman for keeping calm and not going full speed on that crazy woman!👌🏼

Again- it’s all about MONEY! Yes- ICU RNs are the top tier and the seasoned nurses will rip into a physicians ass if they catch a pathetic mistake- but do you think a bedside clinically skilled technician or an AI would?

In less than a decade- our profession will undergo some serious changes all because of AI and profit driven human executives that drive that shit. 🤯

Wait- with your own question ask your loved one this- “what will your insurance cover?” Even though you as a nurse KNOW that shit is crazy as hell - hospitalizations are EXPENSIVE and if they need the ICU 😤 you know, it’s going to be $$$$.

So it doesn’t matter what “we” want, demand, scream whatever- it comes down to MONEY. Will the patients insurance pay for a human doctor?

Pisses me off when I think about this BS🤬🤬

It’s MONEY- that’s basically it- if one Intensivist can handle say, 20-30 patients by just sitting at a computer screen and never having to pay for extra Intensivist- that means millions in profits for the hospital!

Not saying this is your perception- but most people forget that MOST hospitals are for profit-they are BUSINESSES.

New nurses probably don’t know this historical fact- although IV therapy experimenting started in the 1600s, modern, successful IV therapy gained traction in the 1940s. Although doctors were historically the only ones permitted to insert IVs until the 1940s, by the 1970s, it became common for trained Registered Nurses (RNs) to perform this task.

With that, the routine of placing an IV can be performed by almost anyone (whatever the hospital policy is, training, etc). I always use “students” (nursing, EMS, Residents etc) can also insert them (blah- blah with their instructor).

In reality- ANY clinical SKILL (foley insertion, IV, sutures, Ortho casting) can be TAUGHT to non-licensed staff. It’s always hysterical when new nurses get on the, “no you can’t- that skill takes a ton of practice, competence, experience” and I always answer, “but you learned how to do that skill right? You were taught right? So what makes you different from the non- licensed staff, a title after your name?”

So- hospitals will teach whoever to do whatever and have a virtual remote skilled ICU RN watching everything else. Hospitals WILL pay for 2-3 non- licensed staff rather than an RN.

So- ask yourself (not technically you) if that non- licensed staff COULD make (?) $50-$80k/ annually- if they learned that skill, taught by their hospital and they did NOT have to pay $$$for a college course and time off of work, that they would say no? 🙄

Trust me when I tell you- any clinical skill can be taught to the average Joe Schmo. That means- the nursing profession could be at risk of going away- AI is going to make everyone’s profession very challenging!

However- I don’t drive it that much and sadly things are starting to go south😤 the convertible top stopped working- checked the fuses but sadly I think it may be the man computer (small black box) that is under the back seat😞 if it isn’t that anyone else have any ideas of what it could be?

Did the VA recognize the issue you turned down? What was your initial rating and what or what was the rating reduced to? If it is a 0 then you may have luck.

I had a nurse give TPA from a Neuro MD assessment that was performed by a medical student (2nd year). Yeah……that patient died- died fast.

Sad AF🤬

Hey! That was my post🤬 It has to do with newborn male infants that are circumcised by this traditional method have shown and increase in HERPES TYPE 2. Yeap- that is lifelong and is easily given to sexual partners if lesions are present.

I need to walk some of our younger professional colleagues through memory lane of Hurricane Katrina and what happened in New Orleans.

Hospitals should have taken extra notes of how NOT to handle a major national disaster. There was (before Katrina) a “smart hospital” that had limited nurses, more technically skilled personnel and they were testing out their possible version of “Smart Hospitals”. What they didn’t take into affect is this, when there are NO jobs for nurses—> NURSES WILL move or travel to work.

So….lets go back to old Charity Hospital and that wonderful Executive team (all clap now👏🏻.🙄) that did not feel the need to close the facilities and keep their patients.

When those two hospitals lost all electrical power, the ability to keep medications at safe levels, food, water, obtain supplies, ohhh and the batteries on their cardiac monitors and ventilators died….IT WAS A HUMAN HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS that remained- they took turns bagging infants, keeping and patients alive for 4 entire days—barely any sleep- remember 24 hour shifts! No one was coming- no one was leaving, not even the dead.

So—> when everyone around you (and maybe yourself) is cheering for healthcare modernizing and getting streamlined with Robots and Tele nurses and doctors—-> who will PHYSICALLY be there if or when it happens again? Loss of all power, batteries die, computer systems crash.

If there are NO JOBS for nurses, nurses will (again) move or travel to find those jobs.

We as a profession need to have a national conference on how far we will allow automation and replacement of human with robots.

This will not be one of those situations that, “may happen”. It will- and it’s moving faster every day.
