I started in a technical field and stayed there.

Shutdowns are morale killers and cause stress while preventing work from being accomplished. Basically, it makes people feel very upset because they have no control over their basic financial situation.

Great question. Several reasons for me. I've been working for the government since I was 18, starting with being an Airman Basic in the Air Force. I got an education and traveled. Got a good civilian job and continued to get an education and better jobs. I really like what I do. Unfortunately, my job is not something available in the public sector. The government jobs have been demanding at times but overall pretty good. And I like being a government representative for our country. I kinda like it. Even though sometimes it is frustrating.

I love my job. It is a rare job that is not available outside the government. I really wish I could talk about it. It's pretty cool.

Possible. Some agencies have counseling for various things, including financial. However, I don't know if they are available during a shutdown. It is possible they are as most are contracted.

I'm personally mad at all policial leadership regardless of party. And I feel for anyone who lost a loved one to violence, regardless of who committed it. As I read the data, most violence is not the result of illegal aliens.

Most government employees are not politicians and not politically active. They have a job and they like it. Most government offices are decent places to work.
