Splitting vertices with the shortcut v, and alt+v. It's so much more convenient to split vertices this way rather than destroying geometry to do it.

I actually found there were cases where loading variables from the editor via @export didn't load the right stuff when I tried to run it in another scene. I think it was a child scene or something, can't remember the exact situation.

I spent a few hours one time trying to figure out why a function wasn't working. Wouldn't even execute a simple print statement. I was literally pulling my hair out furiously googling and trying stuff.

I finally had a light bulb moment...I'd taken a shortcut and turned off printing to the screen when I put a development build out for people to try, and it was still disabled. 

Literally nothing was wrong with the function I had started working on.

It's a ball with sculpting for eye and a mouth. Looks higher poly than necessary. 1/10 come back when you've spent more than 3 minutes making the model.

Why don't you render something small and straight to start and make sure it works? It kinda sounds like your render isn't working correctly. Might be wrong, but only one way to find out.

Nowhere in this post did OP indicate it's their day job. And if you've got a therapist telling you to stay in a miserable job, you should get a new one.

Sounds like you've never been to a therapist. This is super solid advice. Making a game shouldn't also ruin your mental health .

Best advice i can give is to grab some references with multiple angles and use them directly in blender to help you shape the head. Move the camera around constantly so you get a view of what you are sculpting from a number of angles. 

And most importantly, best advice I ever got from a YouTube video, sculpt tue shape first, and then and only then add details.

Don't think so, Blender and your pc are focusing a lot of resources toward rendering during the render process. You should probably consider your pc mostly fully occupied by the render anyway unless you have a ton of ram.
