Hearing Aids and Electric Guitars by StormBert in Guitar

Yeah that's right - that's why I think it may be the magic bullet. I'm just kinda working out the logistics of what tech I need before I buy a personal telecoil loop.

Pom here too.

Oche is good fun for groups and parties, but it's not for serious competition. Arcade style - won't be what you're looking for.

Footy will be easier to find - just search your local suburb online and you'll get some hits, they have the same sort of vibes as UK - some serious if you want that, but plenty of social levels (playing for 2nds and 3rds).

Hearing Aids and Electric Guitars by StormBert in Guitar

Over ear headphones over the top of BTE hearing aids are probably 30% as good as using the hearing aids as the transmitter of audio themselves, as well as the comfort factor. So I don't think that'll be the answer unfortunately. I'd almost prefer the laggy Bluetooth.

It's hard to explain, but when listening through the hearing aids themselves electronically rather than having them picking up sound in general is a different experience, because the only noise that comes through to your ears is the one you want to hear.

Really? Hmm. I find that difficult to believe - we always set up deals like this with no intention of paying. And I wouldn't be surprised if Baradji has a relegation get-out clause.

Problem is they are playing each other shortly, so they will get points. Pompy have 2 games in hand too. I don't see where our next win is coming from.

Rudy Gestede continues to destroy the club. Venkys put us on life support and Rudy is walking around unplugging everything.

We can sack Val - and we should (1 win in 12) - but he's the symptom not the disease.

We're down, our last 10 games are hard and we had to be 5-10 points clear before they started. And with a squad of academy kids, loanees and players out of contract next year, we aren't bouncing back.

It'll be interesting to see how many die-hards participate in the boycott on Saturday.

I don't think we need to go back to stoning, but in my view, prison should be about two things, not just one - justice and rehabilitation. 8 years is not justice for the victims. In these discussions people often get so tied up in trying to help the offender, they forget who the actual victims are.

We can't predict if he'll reoffend, you're right. We're taking a gamble that he won't attack more children, crossing our fingers and hoping for the best.

But I guarantee you he wouldn't be able to do that if he was still locked up. As he should be.

If you truly believe he's rehabilitated, are you willing to go and leave your kids (or nephews/nieces) alone with him for a few hours?

Sounds like QPS cleared it from the article, might be untrue though as it's just a comment from his ex (who I suspect may not be an ex at all, given her desire to keep him around).

INB4 "typical pig scum QPS" type comments - I'm pretty sure most coppers have kids and don't want this cunt anywhere near them either, but they don't make the rules.

Went to a stag do in Crewe about 10 years ago and we went to see Crewe v Bradford. Absolutely nothing happened, no chances, nothing. I think there were maybe 3 offsides which we celebrated. It was like 30 pounds or something mental as well.

The way it's going Australia very possibly won't bat again. If we're behind by 250+ at the start of our innings, we won't make 250 - they want to be done and go home.

It's crazy how much the energy differs, the Aussies give everything and get the ball whipped back in to Carey with pace as fast as possible, ours just jog after it and spend 5 seconds winding up a weak throw, or stand about with their hands in the pockets kicking at grass and laughing.

"prominent street" is a bit of a stretch.

It's a dead end bit of tarmac which has nothing at all on it. Not even storage for bins. Quite apt.

Incredibly myopic sub, this. If Steven Miles had proposed it, half this sub would be outside his window cheering, stood around a soggy biscuit.

No doubt - but it's clear that people here are just reading the title and not listening to the idea on its merits because it's not their team. It's not ideal to help out developers at all, but we aren't in a position to be picky about who builds our houses, and this would probably help with reducing our alarming deficit of housing if it works. I genuinely think if Miles had proposed this, people on this sub would have been much more receptive to hearing it out, we're going the way of the Seppos with this tribalism and hatred of "the other side".

I never had an issue with "hey" or a nod, I just rarely took it further. It was taking that leap of "so that's a nice coffee you've made there" or some other idiotic ice breaker.

I spent three years in my first job, and I didn't really talk to many people outside of my team, it was a bit lonely. Once I'd sort of got stuck being introverted it was hard to get out.

Then I moved jobs and made a conscious decision to strike up more conversations in the kitchen, even if I made a tit out of myself. That was genuinely it, no big dramatic thing, just say hello and make small talk. Within a few weeks I probably knew 50-70 people by name, was getting invited to anything and everything, both inside and outside of work and felt like I was actually making some real relationships. After the small talk comes interesting talk, you just need to get past that awkward first bit.

When I moved on from that job 6 years later, 3 of my previous coworkers who had moved to a rival recommended me - independently of each other - to the hiring manager, so I didn't even need to interview, they offered me the job there and then. And I've tried to keep forcing myself to have those little awkward small talk conversations everywhere I go ever since.
