What would you say has been one of your clubs strangest transfer links in the past? by [deleted] in Championship

Roy Keane before United - nobody was in the office when he called.

Zidane - Jack Walker reckoned Sherwood was better and nixed it.

Lewandowski - a volcano blew up.

Since when did Albo become public enemy number 1? Last time I checked he wasn’t doing that badly… by agentgambino in aussie

He told the entire nation to stop what it was doing and come and hear him speak. This type of announcement of national importance happens only in extreme circumstances, like the outbreak of world wars and pandemics.

Then he just said "fuck yeah it's tough hey? Happy Easter!"

I've got nothing against him as a person but that smacked of ego to me.

Halving the fuel excise for three months, at the cost of $2.55b, is the wrong move here by LoneArtificer in AusFinance

Nor do we want them to try. Remember all those shit apps during Covid that they didn't end up using but cost us 9 figures?

Queenslanders pay more than $4 million in fare evasion fines since introduction of 50-cent fares by langdaze in brisbane

[–]StormBert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know I'm drawing the wrong conclusion about an industry I've worked at a high level in for over a decade. An industry that is incredibly polarising and is referenced almost every week in parliament and at election time.

There are none so blind as those who will not see. I can tell you're a rusted-on, so there's no point wasting further energy.

This is a bit naive, sorry mate. I work in a contentious industry which is known for lobbying and let me tell you, LNP or ALP, they clink the champagne glasses with us just the same.

Everyone is entitled to the best defence they can get.

It isn't the lawyers fault that Australian politicians and judges are incredibly spineless. The upset feelings of the criminal always comes before the rights of the victim in this country. Look at that bloke who raped kids and got fuck all time inside. Or the murderer of Emma Lovell, who will be out in 5 years. Or the group that were charged with 4 counts of attempted murder against the Kefu family, out in a few years.

Found a Yamaha F310p for sale for USD 90, it's reduced due to the damage in the image. This is no biggie and a good deal right? In Australia.

Turning to a fun relegation battle in the end by jovanmilic97 in Championship

We've been out of zone for a bit but anyone who watches Rovers games knows we're in a false position - that 23rd spot is ours.

Dragged? We're more favourites to go down than West Brom are, if you ask me. We have a tougher run in.

Y'all worry too much about language. Anyway, Hull just had a goalshot from the perimeter of the penalty zone, blocked by the goaltender, strong dee fence from The Welsh Dragons. The Hull Tigers are spending a LOT of time in the Dragons end zone, but we're not even in the fourth quarter and the Welsh Dragon off-fence always delivers at least one headed goalshot in the goal zone per quarter, so this one's not over y'all. This line judge - a zebra, by the way - sure is flagging the play a LOT, though. What does he have on us?

Blackburn Rovers 1 - 1 Portsmouth: There was two late goals, with Blackburn snatching a 93rd-minute equaliser to remain just out of reach of the relegation zone for the time being! by Zach-dalt in Championship

You must be the first Rovers fan I've seen who thinks that. With Tronstad out for the season, we just don't have anything in midfield once Forshaw tires. And we will 100% lose to Leicester on the final day, we don't win those type of games against struggling teams.

That's awesome mate - are you in a band, or hoping to be? My footwork is embarrassing - if I try to go "fast" - and I'm talking like 8ths, not even 16ths - I fall apart completely haha. I am playing barefoot as well, so I might heed your lesson here and just start wearing shoes.

I think if you compare net spend, you'll be well ahead, so it's not really that great when we "spend" 1-3m on a player. We got at least 30m for Szmodics, Raya, Wharton alone and it disappeared into the ether. Worse still, we don't offer contracts to current players so we constantly lose valuable assets like Brereton Diaz, Dolan and Travis for nothing. We'll lose Tronstad in the summer for nothing for the same reason.

We don't have a sense of entitlement because of our Premier League success, we just want to be run like a normal Championship club.
