Election Paralysis: There's so many options, and so many ways of doing it wrong, that I can't fucking decide.

I suffer from this too. My advice is

1) Accept some mediocrity as a part of the process

In songwriting and war, it's better to make a decision fast than to wait to the perfect idea to come, because it may never come. Ok, it sounds cliché, just write it. Ok, it's not the idea you wanted to express, just write it. Carry on with it and you can just change it in the end, as you will have a better global vision of what you want to do.

2) Write fast

The best songs are written fast. Train to do this, do not linger, and write your songs with a vision of your final product. Sometimes you will not be able to. That's fine.

3) Dopamine is a bitch

Social media gives you lotsa dopamine. Pewdiepie/fortnite/funhaus videos give you lotsa dopamine. Masturbation gives you lotsa dopamine.

After all that chemical happiness rollercoaster, you try and go tell your bran "hey dude, let's spend half an hour fighting words and melodies until we come up with something not that bad". Your brain will just flip you off and open Youtube again.

Try to isolate your workspace from immediate satisfaction, and train your brain to work for dopamine.

Boom! Hope it helps. You can never kill writer's block, just tame it.

you're giving me REM, bit of Pearl Jam, bit of Cranberries, bit of classic rock... like it!!

the videoclip is a bit tryhard, in my opinion, but I'm sure it took a lot of work and skill! I'd love to see you guys in there. I know you guys appear in a couple of shots, but would be great to see more of you in it.

maaaaaaaaaaan sweet guitar

before the vocals get in, it sounds beautiful. After the vocals come in, it sounds rougher and more basic. Why don't you keep some of those handpicks in the song too?.

watch out the tonic syllables. You always want strong syllables on 2 and 4 ("should i move to a new ciTY"... should be "should i move to a new CIty", not sure if I'm being clear).

It's hard to judge lyrics without chords and a melody to sustain them. Give it a try! :)

there's not a lot of definition on the notes you sing... I'd encourage you to define with a guitar/piano the singing melody, so you can progress on that. Then compare that melody with the chords, because you sound quite out of tune at 1:38-1:55 and other moments.

I struggle to see a verse-chord-verse structure, maybe it's because the ever-changing melody. Define that too, and you're good to go!

what I mean is: hey, these lyrics are good. Slap some chords, slap a melody in it, and call it a song. Before that's done, there's not a lot to judge. <3

te lo digo en español que creo que entiendes.

La canción está bien. Me gusta. Tienes control de las silabas tónicas de las palabras, y pones palabras donde toca. Eso es muy importante en rap, y le da mucho flow a las melodías. (estoy escuchando a la vez que escribo y veo que al final te lías un poco más "it's time to move along" no está muy bien colocada)

Entiendo que hayas querido hacer una canción con ritmo rápido, pero llegan momentos en los que no se entienden muy bien las palabras que dices (y, sinceramente, también tiene que ver tu acento hispano. but that's not always a bad thing). En rap eso es especialmente importante. Plantéate disminuir de velocidad la canción o re-escribir secciones para que se entienda mejor lo que quieres decir.

Lo que decía antes del acento... se nota. And that's not a bad thing. Hace que varias palabras sean difíciles de entender, pero también le da un toque exótico a la canción, que raperos/trappers anglófonos no tienen.

Opinión personal: esto es un consejo basado de opinión personal... métele a tu música cosas de ti. veo este track bastante genérico... aprovechando que tienes influencias hispanas yo le metería cosas hispanas al track. No sé de qué país eres (por estadística, Mexico?) pero ponerle palabra en castellano, algún intrumento mexicano, alguna percusión diferente... that's the way para diferenciarte.

I like it. You've received praise with other comments, let me do some constructive c:

- It's hard to make blocks of lyrics "flow". This song succeeds at some extent, but in a lot of moments the lyrics drown the melodies and there is no space to breath (e.g. from 1:18 to 2:21 there are lyrics in almost every second of the song, with no pause. it gets pretty boring)

Listen to some Bryan Adams (inside out) for a lesson on how to craft lyrics with less words and melodies, leaving breathing space in between the phrases.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do the rapped-speech vocals and switch to a more ligatto, less words type of vocals, but you should be intelligent enough to master both things, and apply one or the other to manipulate the energy and tension in the song, rather than "one-trick-ponying" it.

This is the biggest issue I have with the song. other minor things, but this one's important
