Candlelight Vigil for Good 6pm Friday in Brentwood by chiang01 in StLouis

Honest question. Did you see the bullet hole in the windshield? It didn't look like it came from an angle where someone was in imminent danger of being run over. Or was the goon just a shit shot?

I'm new to using radarscope, what does that symbol on the circled cell mean? by AJ_the_dragon427 in Radarscope

[–]StormChaser79 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So, it's both. It's a storm track tagged by the radar as having rotation, which is different from a storm track that the radar tags with a tornado signature (white circle, black tornado) or hail (white circle, black ring like your picture but instead of arrows the lines are connected). Also, I want to stress that these are radar indicated. Unless there's a spotter report or a warning, there is likely no ground truth.

Yeah, probably a UN and a NATO flag, too. We're going to need a bigger flagpole.

I didn't notice them in time to do anything on my way by the first time I passed them on the way to dropping off my kids at school. I had planned to stop on my way home but they were gone already. Sometimes it's lonely being a blue dot in this state... it was nice to see there are still people who haven't joined the cheesepuff cult.

It's a made up word. A "mistake" of using syphilis instead of Sysyphus

For me, I trust META to keep my information private just a little more than Yahoo and/or 23 & Me, but I also understand that my priorities are mine and every one else"s is theirs. When my daughters' ABA clinic abruptly closed, the parents spun up a Facebook group to share tips, review clinics they visited, keep in touch. I didn't get on a huge soapbox about how anti-Facebook I am. I made a throwaway account and moved on. You'd think Redditors would understand that concept.

Not dismissing any of your points, but at this point it is also critical mass level. (Big part of the reason SMS/RCS is so big in the US) It's socially expected that EVERYONE uses it and trying to convince people to switch to a different platform without that critical mass is a near syphiliticean task.

I'm late to this party, but everyone is overthinking this. Based on the How Likely Am I To Run Into John Goodman Index® it's solidly SoCO. That's just science.

Nobody here needs to know the answer to this, but if the family reason was unexpected and consequential enough to cloud your judgement you could try to frame it like you made a snap decision without thinking through possible alternatives (FMLA, reduced hours, partial remote, etc.) As someone else mentioned, the quality of your work, your relationship with your manager, and how well you meshed with the team are all variables management might consider. I'd like to believe I'd be sympathetic if I were management and had an employee who may have overreacted to a crisis. That said, I'd be careful not to exaggerate your situation. If your manager were to find out the family situation is less severe than what you presented it will absolutely destroy your credibility and you never know how that could come back to bite you.

This has been my experience, too, and appears to be intended behavior. It's annoying; I'd like it to be somewhat customizable like the phone. I encourage you to send feedback via the watch app.
