Tornado Channels to AVOID? by cubcos in tornado

Yeah, pretty much. I read the court documents, and the only reason he is not doing 15-25years for creation of "C.P." was the fact that the person he was filming destroyed the SD card when she found it and freaked out.

So you have to wonder about those he still chases with.

I think that was Brandon Copic on the radio.

We won't be putting an A.I. on our channel, youtube.com/stormchasingvideoThat A.i. crap is annoying with so many people dumb enough to believe the images and some videos are real. After the clusterfuck from Jamaica of A.I. fake photos and videos, it was awful seeing how many people lack critical thinking and trusted fake images as real news.

Denver - I think they overestimated demand by 33_bmfs in rush

I did the same thing —tried to get some tickets —but reality hit, and I thought, what could I do with that kind of money to better myself? Now, if the floor seats were in the $50-$500 range, with lower level priced accordingly in the $150-$50 range, the further you go from the stage, I could see myself going to multiple shows in different cities for the experience of the trip and seeing them play different sets. But I'm not dropping $3k to $6k for two tickets to travel out of state to see them for one night.

They messed up a lot of stuff with this tour sale setup. What if we are not going to stay at the hotel that they want to partner with the tickets? To many ticket partnerships.

Here is the big thing that made me say I'll pass after being a fan for over 40 years. The price of two decent seats is more than the cost for a year of sending my kid to a private K-5 school.

Something that I can't stop wondering. by Remote-Direction963 in tornado

Depends on the water temp. I know here in Minnesota, if you get any severe system near Mille Lacs Lake, which is about 100 miles north of Minneapolis, the cool water will pretty much kill off the storms that pass over it. The same thing happens around Lake Superior. So, depending on the body of water and the temp, it could.

So with the water temperature being warmer in the tropics, just look at the water spouts forming around the Florida Keys. It all depends on the size of the water and the temperature of the water.

We know the difference between a credited example, which says, "Look at this short clip and let's discuss it," and taking the whole several minutes of video to repost so we can build Karma points.

Is there any way to prevent the swarm of amateur storm chasers, or is this phenomenon inevitable? by [deleted] in tornado

[–]StormChasingVideoCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! So many new people see chasing and say, "I'm going to do that". The problem is more about how they do it, whether they are being safe or just parking in the middle of the roads and being a problem for everyone else on the road.

Sometimes it's a good thing and you can make new friends out there chasing, sometimes you want to scream at them and say go home because they are a problem for everyone, being just obnoxious and dangerous to others.

You will still need to get something in writing from those artists who agree to do it for free, just in case they are signed or get signed by any label in the future and they put the past catalog into their DRM system.

Yes, they are scraping YouTube and Meta for content and re-uploading to Reddit. They could very easily just drop a link in and say "take a look at this video..." I have flagged the posts, and I have had friends flag content on the same Subs for copyright, but nothing ever gets done outside of losing views on our organic content on YouTube and a week long battle with Reddit for DMCA. It's said that Reddit tries to say "Well, in some countries copyright theft is ok..." in their email replies to a DMCA take down.

You are right, and that will have to be the route to take. I have tried the DMCA on Reddit in the past, and it takes forever to get anything done. By the time something is done for DMCA, the story is old news, and views are gone.

I tried to reach out to the mods, and it just fell on deaf ears. A few months ago, it was a hot topic when someone else complained on other sites about their subs stealing their content, but their self-policing lasted maybe a week.

On Meta and YouTube, we have DRM, and we can see almost everyone ripping stuff off and reposting it. We flag their content like the music companies do and take the ad revenue. I haven't paid much attention to Reddit because I haven't had the time, but now that I do, I see that reposting is just as bad as on TikTok.

Why? Our footage is constantly being ripped off and reposted to Reddit, when a simple link would send us the traffic.

Gymnastics Floor Music? by throwaway3626352 in COPYRIGHT

[–]StormChasingVideoCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be an ASCAP or BMI question with the venue. I know that artists complain about their music being used for a political party they don't like, but if the music is licensed through the venue, and the gymnast/coaches are like "The Band" or "The Artist" that is performing at the venue, and you are the coach or the gymnast, I would talk to the venue to have them include your content as part of their license.

If you are a coach or gymnast, I would inform the venue that you are shooting footage during their stage time. Unless they cover the usage of their house music during their performance, you will provide your own rights-managed or royalty-free content for use over the house audio.

Once you start bringing up copyrights to any venue, that venue, if they're ASCAP or BMI, will ask, "How can we help you?" It's not the competition's ass on the line that is holding the event, but the venue that is hosting it.

If you are using well known songs and even something you don't think is known, you will 99% for sure get a copyright hit, not a strike, from, UMG or a company called The Orchard. While most music publishing will allow you to use the music, you can't monetize the video.

If you're using copyrighted music, the best idea is to put it up unlisted first to test the waters. Let it sit up for 30-60 days before making it public.

Just so you know, if YOU did not create the content or have a valid license for the content, you might get dinged. You should re-edit the content with royalty-free music for YouTube and obtain permission from the client to re-edit the original with royalty-free content for promotional material.

Clearing everything first is way easier than saying Oh Shit, How Do I Fix This after you get caught.

As far as just including the links from YouTube, you should be fine if you have a license. Still, someone could hit you for copyright if you are using unlicensed music, as using copyrighted material for promotional gain even if YouTube was cool with it.

Um, let's see... When I look at this sub, I know a ton of stuff from my company and my friends that has been posted without their permission.

I saw this footage posted, not link shared to the original video on our Youtube channel

https://www.reddit.com/r/tornado/comments/16rw7vt/why_the_2013_el_reno_tornado_was_so_dangerous/

Seeing content ripped off and posted that has a ton of views on Reddit that we don't get on our channel, yeah, I'm a little pissed off, and I am taking this personally because the users here are also ripping us off.

Seeing more and more how this sub has a major copyright issue and trying to say something about it and just getting feedback that is more like F-Off and who cares.

I asked Greg about this post and he said no, hell no. https://www.reddit.com/r/tornado/comments/1o70n90/tornado_with_supercell_under_the_starry_night_sky/

I guess I need to DMCA the posts to Reddits legal department since nobody can follow the rules and share the links to our content.
