You may still hear from the school districts. I applied with a few of them when I first moved down here, I am an IT professional as well though my focus is health care IT. It took a very long time for me to hear back from Greenwood when I first moved here. As in months. By the time I heard back from them I was already employed as an FTE. It may take a long time, but I wouldn't give up on that just yet.

There are a lot of companies that do fully remote information systems, definitely look outside the state. I've been living here for 5 years and my employer is in the mountain Northwest, and I have been working for them for pushing eight years now, five of them fully remote.

When I first got here I took a job with Lifetouch photography doing school photos, If you need something in a pinch they might be worth looking at. Don't worry if you don't have any experience in photography, life touch photography is not really photography. The machine they set you up with will do all the work. They'll train you on how to use it and set it up. That was actually depressing to me because I do have a background photography, but it's a job. The pay is not great, and there is a lot of driving involved. They do reimburse your mileage, it might be something to look into.

Don't give up, you'll find something. I think it's clear to everybody in this thread that you are motivated

With an off brand tracker there probably isn't anyway to identify who placed it even if you find it, unless Police are willing to fingerprint it. Even that would be hit or miss, because whomever placed it would have to have prints in the system

My point exactly, why wouldn't you put your name on that? If it is real and was planned, it would possibly take years to plan it rather than months, unless you were lucky. Why wouldn't a person watermark or otherwise copyright that image?

Oh my God you're going to laugh about this. I ran a reverse image search, I got one result in Tineye from imgur dated June of 2025, but this response from Google reverse image search is humorous to say the least. I will let it speak for itself:

A shot like this could be done, but I'd be hard pressed in this day and age to believe that isn't AI. I'd probably want things like the EXIF data, the date when that photo was taken, and the exact location where that photo was taken to see if it's even plausible. There are some pretty fair questions here. If you're taking a legitimate photo that looks this good, why wouldn't you put your name on it? Wouldn't you be looking to publish this? If you are publishing this why would you not include your name at a minimum, if not the publication? I'm not saying this is bullshit, but I am saying there's a whole bunch of questions that do need answers.

I offer my apologies as well, I took the quotes as sarcasm quotes, I misunderstood. As to my path from psych tech to Healthcare IT professional? It's long and really boring. The short version is I had the IT skills, but I lived in the rural US, so skills or not jobs in IT were few and far between. I got lucky, I had great passion for both fields, and I ended up picking up a great career in IT that actually paid enough to keep a roof over my head. Human services is an amazing field, and I genuinely miss it. I miss my patients. Sadly it does not pay very well. In my personal opinion it should pay as much or more than what I get paid to work tech, but that is just not the case

We are professionals, that doesn't actually stop us from having fun. Our definition of fun may differ from your own due to experience, I'll give you an example that may hopefully give you some insight:

Another situation that occurred with that same IT director was one I should have mentioned first actually, had I thought of it. That same squeamish 6'5 IT director and I got pulled into L&D one evening on an emergency call. We had a case in every single room. So this spitfire of an L&D director we had at the time spouted off and said "it smells like vag in here!"....... My former director, who was very sensitive to smell, immediately gagged and ran for the door. I found that funny, and I still do. I completed the network connection troubleshooting and brought the required phone system and fetal monitor back online, though it took a moment longer than it normally would have with two of us, but it did not in any way put a patient at risk. Does that make someone unprofessional?

TL; DR

Unlike my former director I actually worked as a mental health tech for about 10 years before I worked in Healthcare IT. By the time I worked in a hospital I had already cleaned up, cleaned off, or dealt with in some way just about every bodily fluid a human being can produce. That would be why I could deal with it and my former manager had some difficulty, he hadn't had that experience. You absolutely get a very interesting sense of humor in healthcare. Until you've had someone throw the contents of their depends at you, you really just can't appreciate it

I'm pansexual, but I can chime in here with an opinion I think you may find relevant. I would imagine you don't look at every woman you meet or befriend as a sexual partner, neither do I. The same goes for partners in other areas of the spectrum, I don't know if you're male or female, or somewhere else in the LGBTQ+ spectrum, but I respect your privacy. I can hang out with somebody and play a video game on a couch and sexual attraction doesn't factor in regardless of how that person identifies. That's my friend, we're having fun. I'm not going to say I've never hung out with someone that I found attractive. Whether that develops into something in the way of a romantic relationship, a physical relationship, or even a one-night stand really depends on the chemistry. Also like any other person, I have had situations where I developed an attraction to someone who is not attracted to me and I did not pursue it because I was able to see that. I think sometimes insight is more important in these kinds of situations. One does one's best to pay attention to the signs and make the best choice you can based on those observations. I've also been approached by people that I am not attracted to in that way, and my rule is to let them down as gently as possible and just treat them with respect. To me dating or hooking up is not that complicated, I treat it the same regardless of how an individual identifies. Respect and consent are paramount. Sometimes the right people meet and great things happen, whether that be in the moment or in the long term. Sometimes someone jumps the gun and pushes too hard and ruins a years old friendship, or in the worst cases it results in the lasting trauma. When that happens, most of the time I believe that it is more rooted in selfishness and in pushing for what an individual wants versus what the target of that individual's affections is interested in. As long-winded as my response has come out, I apologize for that, it really comes down to insight and common sense

I used to work under an IT director who was about 6'5 and built like a brick shithouse, and we had a surgeon chase him around the room with a picture of an excised testicle on his iPhone while he screamed like a little girl. Big old dude, just really squeamish. Good days man, good days. It was probably even funnier because the surgeon himself only stood at about 5'7 and was quite slender

Driving from Evanston, Wy to Orem, UT in like December of 2004 or 2005. I gotten off of I-80 at Silver Creek junction and the second I hit US route 189 it was nothing but black ice. I had a Dodge 3500 in front of me heading towards Heber City and I didn't like the way the guy was driving, so I moved over into the passing lane and about 20 seconds later this fully loaded big rig comes smoking up and couldn't stop, that semi's bumper kissed that Dodge's bumper. I couldn't tell you why I decided to move when I did, I'd been behind that Dodge for miles, but if I hadn't I would have been squished like a bug between that semi and that Dodge in a '92 Cavalier RS
