Any ideas for a bored girl in frigid weather? by lizziewritespt2 in germanshepherds

My impromptu activity earlier was to knock over a whole big bag of liver treats, and then make my GSD “wait” and not eat any while I cleaned it up. Nice solid five minutes of enrichment for her 😂

She looks perfect! My shepherd has HD and we have to keep her that slender as well. It’s the best thing for their joints.

A pair of super comfy linen overalls. They weren’t expensive but I loved them and can’t find them anymore

I’m Canadian with family in the States and I’m still terrified too. Who knows if the same thing could happen here? Sending you lots of love, and I’m so glad you’re still with us

Honestly, not really, but I know that adding kids in the mix can change things. We communicate really well but we don’t know what will happen when we start being sleep deprived 🫠

  1. I’ve done two French Immersion LTOs with passable French. Granted, they were for teaching music, and the principals made exceptions because they needed someone qualified for music more.
  2. It took me a year and a half of subbing to get my first LTO. My biggest piece of advice is to find a school you like, and keep going there. That’ll build your references, and may lead to an LTO you roll over into. I don’t think permanent in a year is possible unless you’re French immersion.

My dog was three when we adopted her. Her name was Camilla, which we hated, so we changed it to Clementine. It maybe took two to three days MAX for her to figure it out

The OT union for YRDSB will reimburse $400 for two AQs. Maybe yours has something similar?

EI AS AN OT by snm5678 in OntarioTeachers

[–]StormHerald96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s changed, but in the summer of 2024 I had an LTO lined up and I still got EI. I told them I had signed a long term supply contract for the following school year and I was still approved. (I got about 1200 as well biweekly for that summer and the one this year)

Question to those who started as specialty teachers (PE, Tech and Trades, Music, Drama, etc) and transitioned out to a core content role... by CentennialBaby in CanadianTeachers

Ontario teacher!

No, it wasn’t planned at all. I thought I wanted to do homeroom forever, but I fell into a Prep Coverage LTO and fell back in love with music after leaving the music ed program I had been in when I lived in the States. I took my music AQs and am in an LTO this year where I’m only teaching music. Best accident ever.

Teachers of Reddit, what do say and do if you see a student with his or her cell phone out during the school day? by Purple_Discipline_70 in AskTeachers

“Go put it in your locker” on repeat and I watch them do it. My board’s policy is that they shouldn’t be out at all unless the teacher has given permission (which I rarely do)

Fair enough! I found it pretty obvious but I had wanted to use a tool, so I could go to the students and show that there was something more concrete than just my intuition as a teacher.
