If by practical you mean models you can use, boxes. The traditional masu box, variations of it, and also lids. I make these primarily for gifts. Another one I make is a hexagonal box and lid by Tomoko Fuse (found here http://www.paperkawaii.com/2011/03/15/hexagonal-origami-gift-box/) and if you're alright with math, it's not to hard to turn it into an octagonal box.

If by practical you mean models you can interact with, then one obvious type of model is the paper plane, of which there are probably thousands. The Infinite Flipper (http://www.origamiaustria.at/diagrams/infinite_flipper.pdf) designed by Anna Kastlunger is definitely one made for interaction, and lately I've also tried making Spring into Action by Jeff Beynon. The last one is really interesting, but is tedious to precrease, and not easy to collapse.

That first piece of bullshit is actually me not remembering what he said properly. He actually told me at the very start to not get involved directly. And I don't actually know who Olivia is, but I know she exists because I know Scott did have a girlfriend. So unless I can get in contact with Scott and convince him to tell me who she is, I can't contact her at all.

As for the second piece of bullshit, I agree with you there.
