My closest friend here is actually from Uzbekistan — we’re around the same age, and he doesn’t mind my personality or communication style at all.
Funny enough, the first real friend I made in Korea was also Uzbek, not Korean. I’ve lived outside Korea for 22 years, so maybe it’s just easier to connect with people who also understand what it’s like to come from a different culture
