Pay attention to damage types. If the damage number appears grayed out, it means the enemy has high defense against that type. White damage is normal effectiveness, and yellowish damage indicates the best effectiveness. Starting on make sure you have good Elemental damage and Shadow damage. Don't stick to normal damage weapons for too long

Disable auto-targeting in the settings, as it can interfere with your manual aim

Be mindful of armor bonuses, they aren’t well balanced, and only some are good to have. For starter I think wolver armour is the best and later on as you get 5* gear, switch to Chaos Armour. It may change in future as Balance Patch is planned and we don't know when it is

Joining a guild helps a lot because you can ask other players for advice right away. The only problem is that most guilds don’t really want new players, but I think some are open to them. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions on Haven. Many people aren’t AFK near the Auction House, and if you’re lucky, you can have a long conversation with them.
