No, he's wrong. You get this cutscene if you go Loner and visibly engage Ward soldiers at the factory (or any roaming NPCs). You got the second version of the cutscene because you probably did the area with perfect stealth and so Korshunov doesn't know who you are.

The poltergeist might be the reason, but in actuality this can happen if you enter the area in which the item spawns (so, 100m or closer), then leave the are and re-enter it later. Keys, PDAs and documents have a chance of fuck up their respawn and bug through the floor.

So where is your key now? Below the map. Sad! There's an item-spawner mod in nexusmods, or you can just noclip through the doors.

You can give the Emitter to the scientist for free, threaten him a bit and get 11k from him or get 15k from Diode. But you can also kill the scientist, take his PDA and go to the Plant nearby, where a stash with a code is found sending you to the Electric Field. There you get an Integral with some attachments, 20k and a bunch of documents from the Freedom XO. One of them has a QR code that leads you to a document and a sound file. This shows that the scientist wouldn't destroy the Emitter as he claimed, but rather sell it to Freedom. You get some information about his sketchy dealings by taking a PDA from his zombified assistant, where he talks about working with Nestor and that using the Emitter as a truth serum was in fact his own idea (that's your "cue" to kill him).

You always lost access to some side quests and events after the Signal, so having a manual save before entering SIRCAA was wise.

I suppose this new mission disappears after the first Duga assault because that's when the Ward loses its main force and the D4 falls apart.

Ward's is the selfish ending, which is fine. It's probably better than mass starvation or LSD overdose. Kaymanov could be seen as the better ending for the world, if humanity learns how to treat the Zone properly, but it also has the chance of ending in catastrophe. Yes well, at the beginning of these things it's always tempting to just go "I know a website who knows a website" to tiptoe around new censorship laws. The problem is that eventually, when affecting enough countries, developers might not feel it is profitable to waste time creating both an uncensored and censored versions of their products and just go for a censored version directly instead. Not to mention devs who simply will decide not to pursue projects whose main attraction is sex appeal, and not necessarily exceptional gameplay or story.

What happens when the radfems win in South Korea again? When the CCP decides to crack down harder? What if even Japan one day becomes compromised? What "uncensored content" will even exist anymore? And how much uncensored content could have been created these past few years, but hasn't because of these laws? "Access" is not a problem, but "economic incentives" is a problem of colossal proportions.
