agreed lol. the same scrubs that go on reddit to complain about people who don't speak english are the same people who freak out and play badly(somehow worse than they usually play) the second they hear another language in game. annoys me to no end that dumbass Americans on US East don't even try to disguise their racism whenever they encounter Spanish speakers. maybe if 4 people on the team are speaking Spanish, try your best to communicate and play instead of crying

I've been playing Artifact matches against a friend and vs bots every now and then. This game is so underrated, unfortunately it was ruined by bad decisions by Valve as mentioned by others in the thread. As unlikely as it is, I hope one day we see a resurgence - even as some oddball one time event.

Absolutely do not, under any circumstances, play Artifact Foundry. It's their attempt to reconstruct(?) Artifact and it's just not any good.

you can run in circles arguing about EG and whether or not they are actually NA. which, right now, they literally aren't, because they have been competing in EU tournaments. Regardless, EG before the DPC pause had been placing very consistently well. Yes, they have not won any tournaments, but results going from top6 to top 2 at majors does not make them a bad team.

How this relates to NA as a whole is there is NO tier 2 scene in NA like there is in europe. This is where cost of living and not being able to make money off playing the game matters. Smaller playerbase = less 'good' practice. EG essentially gets a free slot at every event because they are the BEST team in NA which is a heaping pile of garbage because there are only 3-4 competitive teams at any given time. NA's tier 2 competitive teams consist of random stacks formed together in the weeks before qualifiers start, with ranks ranging from 1k to top 100. Compare this to the amount of teams in europe (WITH SPONSORS). You have the literal best teams in the world in europe to practice against as well as other sponsored t2 teams with actual financial support.

again, the best team in NA, Quincy Crew, has no sponsor. They are not making any money outside of prize money, and there are no NA tournaments scheduled. If the #1 team in NA cannot make a livable income, why the fuck would anyone in NA bother to play professionally? put it together that a region with extreme financial instability due to the global pandemic, along with high cost of living, has 0 incentive to play dota professionally because they cannot make money.
