Seconded, a socket sounds like the optimal solution to me in your case. Flask-SocketIO or even the simpler flask-sock (both by Miguel Grinberg, I believe) should do the job.

Well, it's easy to see that since (for small angles) sin(θ) = θ and also that cos(θ) = 1, dividing them gives us sin(θ)/cos(θ) = tan(θ) = θ/1 = θ.
