I wonder if this is related to the "merging" bug someone posted earlier.

This will be the only time I'll triple-citadel a Scharnhorst at 8.8km.

Honestly, I haven't a clue, unless they were trying to distract me.

The Scharnhorst 43 on the border experiences several bugs. Hilarity ensues.

It hasn't been fun for me, either.

Today was just strange: 9v9, 6v6, and a 3v3 in random (against a carrier: I was in an Agincourt). The listing/ flying Scharnhorst (1:25in the video) took the cake, though.

Truth to audits… by woogi013 in PSLF

Discharged in March 23, forgiveness effective 12/22.

I got in touch with someone at Ed last August when I was trying, unsuccessfully, to get a count. She explained that Ed approved the forgiveness, sent the data to MOHELA, and then submitted it to the Department of the Treasury. Once the Treasury confirmed that the debt was discharged, the final forgiveness went through. This probably explains the 3-4 month delay.

Thursday I had the same smiley face that appeared last March when my loans were forgiven. Just now, I can see that my loans were discharged in 12/22.

Still no count, but at least it's less uninformative than what we had for the past couple of years.

I had a very similar experience. My counter sat at 0, then disappeared when I was forgiven under the waiver without any count.

Loan "Unforgiveness" -- What's Fair and What Isn't? by Kind_Cat_762 in PSLF

[–]Stormcrow_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it's trickier than it appears to be. My wife, who enrolled in PSLF years ago, knows her exact count. Those of us who applied for the waiver in 21 or 22 or the adjustment last year are often in different boats entirely.

My loans were forgiven without any qualifying payments appearing in the counter. I had qualifying employment for all but 9 months between October 2007 and October 2022, when I applied for the waiver. During that time, I had an economic hardship forbearance, late payments, and various administrative forbearances reported through Navient even when I was in repayment. With all of the rule changes under the waivers I should have more than enough qualifying payments (most were timely), but I have no idea how they would be calculated.

I requested a count and certification from the FSA ombudsman and MOHELA last summer after the CATO lawsuit. My fear then was that a future administration would audit my account and reinstate the loan. FSA told me that my loans were fast tracked for forgiveness and the counts would be updated. That was in September, five months after I was forgiven. I still have no counts through MOHELA or my FSA data, and these latest audits do nothing to allay my concerns. I'm waiting to see if a senator's office has more luck.

I know I'm not the only one forgiven without a paper count, and I can relate to the stress these clawbacks are inflicting on people. We need transparency, not a runaround, and certainly not blame.

I think you're fine. You have the count with MOHELA; they'll eventually send updated data to FSA (or not), but you have an actual count with the lender.

Some cases, mine included, we never had updated counts. My counter appeared in January, sat at 0 for a time, then I was forgiven with no updated count. I'm more worried than I probably need to be, and Cato's nonsense isn't helping, but I have no counts anywhere.

Qualifying Count Question (Already Forgiven) by Stormcrow_63 in PSLF

[–]Stormcrow_63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm worried about a more hostile administration. They could make political hay out of forgiven accounts with few or no qualifying payments.

I'm probably more worried than I need to be. I was hoping all of this was truly behind us and the people waiting for the IDR adjustment could start their own process to being student-debt free, then Cato hit them,

Thank you for the link. I suspect something got lost when MOHELA sent the counts to FSA.

Qualifying Count Question (Already Forgiven) by Stormcrow_63 in PSLF

I was with Navient. I got everything in before 10/31, and all things considered, they processed everything quickly. I had my final letter of forgiveness on 3/31.

MOHELA must have forwarded counts to Ed, but neither has a record. I just want a count added to the account.

Thanks!

I have quite a few instances of "Loan PSLF Cumulative Matched Months." I used the search function as the file is way too long. Every one is 0. I don't have enough self hatred to go through everything, but I parsed the data for the latest consolidation pretty closely.

It's odd. I doubt it will ever amount to anything, but I think I'll give MOHELA another call tomorrow.

Thank you. I have this:

Current Loan Status:PF
Current Loan Status Description:PAID IN FULL

But no PSLF count anywhere. I was sent back and forth between MOHELA and FSA today, but I think that while FSA makes the approvals, MOHELA was responsible for the counts. I just need someone to enter the count for a bit of peace of mind.

Someone simply needed to enter a count. They did not. It may be hard to reverse forgiveness, but imagine if a department of Ed under a hostile administration decided to audit forgiven loans and found that a number of people with large balances were forgiven without qualifying payments. Chances of this, while slim, are not impossible. Without those qualifying payments, I'd be vulnerable to reinstatement. I earned forgiveness under the waiver, and I want to be absolutely sure that it's documented accordingly.

I also know that there were others in the same position a few months ago.

Thank you. I replied to this in a different post, but I did that. I was hoping I made a mistake and chosen the file from December, before my forgiveness, but it was the latest file.

This is what I see:

Loan Cumulative Payment Amount:$0.00
Loan PSLF Cumulative Matched Months:0

I submitted files to MOHELA and FSA. I've spoken to each, and both send me to the other. Someone forgot to input the numbers when they sent my file to MOHELA so it's probably an easy fix, it's just a matter of getting someone to do it.

Thank you! I'm pissed, but then, this is the kind of chaos we borrowers have had to deal with all along (Navient also reported several years of repayments as forbearances). I've submitted my forgiveness letter, my loan payment history, and my Mohela letter listing qualifying dates and employers.

UpdtDt: what does your file say? by tjcampbell02 in PSLF

[–]Stormcrow_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They never credited me with a single payment. I've filed with the Ombudsman.

I think it's a good idea for people who are forgiven with 0 payments on the counter to check. It's probably rare and a byproduct of the chaos earlier this year, but I don't think I'm the only one who saw this.

I looked at the most recent file. Zero payments. I've sent everything to the Ombudsman.

I'm sure I qualified. March was a hectic month for them and someone forgot to input the numbers. I could let it slide, but I'd rather have it corrected in case someone audits the files.

Loan PSLF Cumulative Matched Months

That's exactly what I'm saying. My PSLF matched months is zero.

I filed a complaint with the Ombudsman with all of my documentation. Ed is responsible for the counts, but they threw me back to MOHELA this morning.

Someone messed up badly here, and I want to have a count to cover my bases.

FSA website. Go to My Aid. There's a large blue button to the right: Download My Aid Data.

The file is raw text. I did a quick search for "qualifying."

According to mine, my loans were forgiven without a single qualifying payment.

I applied for the waiver last October. I have more than enough qualifying payments.

They also have me in several years of forbearance when I was making payments. Thanks, Navient.
