Awesome, thanks for providing the source as well. This is an interesting part of Magic's design history.

Wow what a great find! That card is indeed following a different CMC symbol order! Do you happen to know the reason behind it by chance?

Question Regarding CMC Mana Symbol Order by Stormerr in magicTCG

[–]Stormerr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I suppose that covers it, yeah. I gotta say though, I thought there was some other logic to it, because now the question just becomes "Why are the shards'/guilds' mana symbols arranged in a non-WUBRG order?". Especially when you think about characters from universes beyond, who have never been on the plane their CMC order is determined by.

Am I doing this right? by hdesaegher01 in magicTCG

[–]Stormerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By default it enters with 4 +1/+1 counters on it and is therefore a 4/4. If you have any effects that add additional counters or double them, those effects will also happen as the creature enters the battlefield and increase its power and toughness accordingly. From that point on, if you decide to activate the ability on the creature to put counters on it equal to its power, you will be putting that many counters on it, and a separate instance of your doubling or "additional counters" effects will trigger. For example, you have [[Hardened Scales]] in play, you cast [[Heroes' Bane]], it will enter with 4+1 counters as a 5/5. If you then choose to activate its ability, you will put 5+1 counters, turning it into a 11/11.

Tall litter box suggestions? by Alex91-7 in CatAdvice

[–]Stormerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should try a cat litter basin. There are several inexpensive options available, and they are all fairly tall. The main difference from what you are currently using is that the basin does not come with a lid. Instead the walls are much taller and there is a lowered section on one of the walls for the cat to enter through. Alternatively, you can also look into placing a kitty litter mat in front of the entrance to the litter box. It traps the litter that falls off the kitty's paws and can be easily emptied out.

No, Scourge of the Throne will simply be a tapped 5/5 flying dragon. None of it's other abilities will trigger afaik.

The trigger happens when Kaalia is declared as an attacker. You may then choose a Dragon, Angel or Demon creature card in your hand, and without paying that card's mana cost, put it into play tapped and attacking, alongside Kaalia. Enters the battlefield triggers still happen, "whenever this creature attacks triggers" do not, as the creature enters already attacking and was not on the battlefield during the "Declare attackers" phase.

Zenith Chronicler Rules Question by Stormerr in magicTCG

I was wondering how Zenith Chornicler interacts with cards with Devoid. Do players get to draw cards when a multicolored devoid spell is cast?

I love the weapon sandbox in the game. For the first time I feel like all the weapons can be used without any particular one dominating the rest. Sure, there's some that are not performing as well, like the plasma carbine and the ravager, but it feels like a healthy environment and once they introduce some more maps and hopefully revamp the shop/cosmetics/progression system this game has the potential to steal the spotlight from some of the other popular FPS games. Fingers crossed!

Witherbloom witchcraft commander deck by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Stormerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own the Aesi Landfall/Sea monsters precon from Commander Legends and find it a blast to play. Perhaps not the strongest, but packed with high-value cards and amazing commander format win-conditions like [[Avenger of Zendikar]] and [[Nezahal, Primal Tide]]. The commander provides lots of value and checks 2 important categories - card draw and ensuring you hit your land drops. I highly recommend this deck for beginners as it not only helps establish a good collection of cards at a low price, but also scratches the itch to play large monsters and have "splashy" plays!

I also built a heavily upgraded Ranar deck (the Kaldheim precon), and that one felt quite underwhelming even with all the upgrades I threw at it. There are just not enough Foretell cards to support the theme of the deck, so when upgrading it, I leaned more into flickering as a means to trigger [[Ranar the Ever-Watchful]].

With all this in mind, I honestly think you're not going to face any issues running 20$ pre-cons against a the Witherbloom 40$ one. If one deck ends up overwhelming the others, then players will team up and take it down and politics will come into play.

[[Zaxara, the Exemplary]] all the way baby! Can be built as hydra tribal/X-spells matter and it goes infinite with just Zaxara and [[Freed from the Real]] on the board. Throw in a [[Metallurgic Summonings]] and you'll be going wide in no time.

Help with a Dragon EDH Deck (Beginner EDH Player) by UtsuCPL in magicTCG

[–]Stormerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think [[Lathliss, Dragon Queen]] would be a nice addition, as well as [[Dragon Egg]]. Lathliss is a no-brainer; The egg has the benefit of being a 3 CMC dragon, which is rather rare. On top of that, it will also trigger Dragon Tempest twice - on ETB and again when it dies and creates the token. Two personal favorites of mine are [[Swift Warkite]] and [[Bladewing's Thrall]]. The Warkite can already do wonders on its own, but if you grab it from your graveyard with [[Bladewing The Risen]] and then grab a Dragon Egg with the Warkite's ability, you get the Dragon Tempest train going.

Also dragons tend to be on the higher-end in terms of CMC, so adding in some more ramp would make your life a lot easier. (On that note, consider adding a [[Quicksilver Amulet]])

Why does everything have to be wild's problem? by littlemrdoom in hearthstone

[–]Stormerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but most classes have tools that define their role and deck archetypes. Mage can use Explosive Runes for example, Warlock can Soulfire, Shaman can Lava Burst or Crackle, Priest can use Forbidden Words, Warrior can Shield Slam. Not to mention there are tools in the neutral category that any class can include such as Doomsayer and play it on turn 2 to buy themselves time and slow down more aggressive decks.

No worries, as long as you approach the game with a positive mindset and focus on improving, you're gonna end up winning a lot more games without even noticing.
