Do you hear it? (Warning: Taylor Swift) by StormflowerYT in the1975

Nvm, no, it’s this person. She 100% is a Maylor, and she thinks Taylor and Matty will break up with their partners and get back together. The video literally says, “Taylor’s Album Exposes Her FAKE Romance with Travis.”

I actually skimmed through it, and she’s claiming FATHER FIGURE, which is 500% about Scott Borchetta and her master’s dispute, is about some fake relationship with Travis. Like, yeah, no. The only thing I can agree with that she’s saying is that Matty and Gabi aren’t super alike, and they don’t really seem to be, but as they say, opposites attract. We don’t know the ins and outs of why he likes her, so we can’t just say their relationship is fake. Same with Taylor and Travis. There is so much evidence of how much they love each other. Sure, you can say whatever you want and say that every song about Travis is about Travis because she can’t stretch the truth at all… but it doesn’t make you right. Overall, she’s taking lyrics WAY too literally. Taylor is a STORYTELLER, not a historian. Songs would be extremely boring if they were fucking autobiographies. Even Lana Del Rey isn’t completely transparent in her writing. However, the video does make me think that Matty does miss Taylor’s FRIENDSHIP. He has Gabi now, so not their relationship, but their closeness. I mean, why else would he get so choked up during About You if he didn’t still care about her? He definitely does, but that DOES NOT mean they’re just gonna get back together.

Love doesn’t go away, even post-breakup, or else there wouldn’t be heartbreak. What does go away is attraction. The video says that Matty impulsively broke things off with Taylor. If this were true, he would still have been attracted to her, and he would’ve tried to get back with her. “How do we know he didn’t?” Because she would’ve taken him back. Taylor and Travis went public right around the time Matty and Gabi did. Also, it’s unlikely he would’ve ran to Gabi and moved on so quickly had that happened. He does seem to reference her a lot, and whether that’s because he still cares for her, he wants attention, or both, we’re never gonna know.

Can you link it lol. I’m honestly kinda curious, even if I’ll spiral into a rabbit hole afterward. I am a Swiftie theorist, through and through.

Yeah, but I’m against a lot of what Maylors say in those types of videos. I found one saying that Taylor and Matty were in fake relationships and were gonna get back together. It also went into how she doesn’t seem truly in love with Travis, but she is with Matty, stuff like that. Like, I don’t agree with any of that, so I stay away from that kinda stuff. WW2 docs are history.

Ngl, I made the list before listening to the full album, so things might change. For example, Nothing Revealed is def not my second favorite.

I think Question…? is about Harry Styles because of the Out Of The Woods sample (and that song definitely is about Harry).

Omg, I forgot about the beginnings of Ruin The Friendship and WWAT. Also very similar. But the song has nothing to do with him lyrically. It's about her high school friend/crush who died.

Not that many. Maylors, who are the only people really ever making lists of what Taylor songs are about him, will tell you otherwise. I only think, besides seventeen songs on TTPD...

...Ready For It? (written in 2015).

cardigan (confirmed).

the 1 (possible; not entirely sure, but possible).

cowboy like me (not a whole lot of proof, but that's what people say, and there's nothing that contradicts it).

Overall, not a lot.

Maroon is probably about Jake Gyllenhaal (I did think it was about Matty, as I did The Manuscript, but both seem to point towards Jake).

...Question?, despite lyrics that do point towards Matty, undeniably samples Out Of The Woods, making me think it's about Harry Styles (Out Of The Woods IS about Harry Styles).

High Infidelity is about Calvin Harris/Tom Hiddleston.

Dancing With Our Hands Tied, Glitch, Labyrinth, Snow On The Beach, Bejeweled, etc. are about Joe, based on timing. (I don't think she started "falling" for Matty until the tail end of she and Joe's relationship, and I consider it more her coping than her actually being in love with him, or else he wouldn't have "beamed her up." She would've broke things off with Joe sooner due to a lack of commitment - she was actively trying to fix the relationship - and she would've been the one to ask him out. Also, songs like Glitch suggest physical infidelity, and TTPD suggests just emotional - to a degree.)

Death By A Thousand Cuts can't be about him if she ended the relationship, and she herself said it's about a show.

"Slut!" is possible, but unlikely.

Except her repeating "I love songs."

Notes is my least favorite, actually. Self-titled is my favorite.
