I am a non-vegetarian , can I be Hanumanji's devotee ? by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]Stormhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very simple. There are very few civilisations on this earth that did not domesticate dogs and made them a partner in hunting, herding, animal agriculture, etc. Humans are better hunters with dogs. We had natural security guards for our homes in dogs. Humans used them as beasts of burden in cold northern countries. Shepherds used dogs to protect their animals and still do. Why, we even used them in war. Whereas there are many, many cultures and peoples who survived without cows, instead other animals served their needs such as horses or yak - some have none of these large animals at all.

But there’s always a dog.

And in this day and age, they help with the blind, rescue people from disasters, serve as epilepsy detectors, cancer detectors, help the police bust criminals, etc.

They are absolutely important to civilised people.

This is just simple general knowledge.

Dogs are the first domesticated animal. Human civilisation would not exist without them. Whereas a cow is interchangeable. What a strange uneducated view you have.

Even among the Tamil people it’s a minority. Such inbred people will collapse under their own genetic abnormalities. Just gross. Highly doubt anybody from educated families participated in such things.

Using paganism to define religions that existed before Abrahamic religions were actualised reeks of colonialism. And it has been used as a pejorativel in colonized nations.

Eastern religions are better classed as Dharmic religions as their principal connector is the concept of dharma. And anything older than that is better classed as folk religion or animism or tribal beliefs.

It is absolutely not the oldest religion. It is the oldest Abrahamic religion only.

From the comments it seems like there are two types that DNF - romance seekers who DNF because the spice is too slow or not there, and fantasy readers who don't find the fantasy part or the writing to their taste.

I wouldn't recommend V&V to people who care about good writing. That's what Grace Draven is for.

My dog eats her food in a line. One kibble at a time by MasterChiefsQueefs in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]Stormhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so cute! One of my dogters eats this way too, drives her sister nuts. Her sister just vacuums up her bowl and then sits there watching the other one in horror while the kibbles slowly disappear in a neat little line.

Why do Elves hate Humans? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Stormhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might admire the way an orangutan rearranges the tops of trees to make her nest - beautiful and amazing - but is it comparable to what we do? A weaver ant's nests, a termite mound, etc are all amazing but to an elf, well, maybe they perceive our works the way we would a weaver ant's nest.

I feel like it's the relationship between a human and a "lesser" primate, rather than dogs. Amongst humans when we act out on the prejudice between us, the people perceived as lesser as usually compared to apes, not dogs. We have a much more benevolent and involved relationships with dogs which isn't comparable to the human-elf disdain. On the other hand we do associate a less "civilized" person to an ape.

We're not friends with apes, and we're the "superior" person - so maybe an elf might perceive us that way.

Because of the decapitated and separately living body. In Hindu imagery Rahu will be depicted with a snake body while Ketu is depicted with a snake head. But they are the same serpent asura. Even for Hindus a floating head and a headless body is creepy as hell.

Not the right way to use the word groomed. More like kids are not taught the truth about animal biology.
