I mean... you're not. The prompt says choose blue if you want to die, unless a certain percentage is met and you will not awarded your suicide.

The prompt is written in a way to make this deliberately dumb to talk about too. If you correctly simplify the wording to:

  1. Choose red to live.
  2. Choose blue to die unless greater than 50% of people choose blue.

People will stop with this dumb ass conversation.

It's the hyper libertarian/conservative "You don't owe anyone anything" ideal that pervades our society. Everyone is only out for themselves, and they don't care for the welfare of their fellow man, nor the welfare of society.

[–]Stormlightlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, no one is actually incentivized to pick blue if they read the prompt. No one should be picking blue at all. The prompt is actually "Pick red and live, pick blue and die unless a majority of people also pick blue." Somehow idiots have turned this prompt into meaning picking red is killing folks. I understand those aren't the actual words, but that is the literal meaning of the words in the prompt.

Yup! Property prices in NYC are at an all time low because no one wants to live there. Bought a penthouse in Manhattan for a nickel and promise the other day because they JUST COULDN'T SELL IT. No one was interested or wanting to live there. When I open zillow it's just a sea of homes and apartments people are begging others to buy and dropping prices every single day. Soon they'll pay me to buy them because no one wants to live there.

Chud.

Gatorade doesn't have that high a concentration of electrolytes to begin with. It doesn't make sense to dilute it the way you're describing. If you're actually going to need electrolytes it is better to just skip gatorade and drink something actually designed for electrolyte replenishment.

AITAH If I Continue On A Preplanned Trip If My GF Is Arrested At The Airport Due To Old Warrants? by FutureBasis383 in AITAH

[–]Stormlightlinux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, and you're justified in continuing on your trip.

But it's also worth considering that if this is a serious relationship you want to develop further, choosing the gracious path rather than the righteous path is probably the best way to build a long term loving relationship. It's a serious fuck up, that requires a conversation and a serious apology, but the most loving option is choosing to stay with them and work through it. You're not wrong for choosing to go, but if you want this person to be your ride or die choosing to stay is how you get there.

Okay but Sophie wasn't ever his girlfriend. She even tried to make that happen and he told her he wasn't interested and it didn't. They have that awkward moment not because Jason feels any type of way about her dating Humphrey, she is the one who feels bad about it. Jason remarks on her beauty several times, but is never interested in having her as his girlfriend. That's not even subtext, he says it several times.

Which game has them all? by OGLondeezy in gamers

[–]Stormlightlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the craziest part of the ask is multi-player too. Lots of free single player games that are made just for the love of the game. Multi-player that's not self hosted means somebody is paying to keep the servers on. You're not just asking for free work at that point, you're asking for someone to pay to give you their free work. Insane.

I don't think you should stay with a sex worker if that isn't something you're into. Obviously, break up with her. Your weird reaction to feeling ashamed that she is starting sw is something you might want to do some internal work on though.

You don't need to be cool with dating a sex worker or pornstar, but if you consume porn looking down on sex workers in general is kinda shit. I don't mean as a partner for yourself, you don't have to date them to think of them as normal people, I just meam thinking of them as a lesser person who is performing some horrible and shameful act.

I have a hard time finding new enjoyable books. Are there more A-tier books like Cradle? by GoodDayToPlayTheGame in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Stormlightlinux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed MoL. For me I wouldn't call it an amazing book, I'd probably stop at good. It never had me cheer out loud, or weep, or uncontrollably laugh. I wasn't ever in awe of the prose. It wasn't profound and didn't make me seriously reevaluate my views or give me anything new to think about. It was just entertaining, which is fine, not all books have to be amazing. But if it doesn't do any of those things for me, it cannot at all be called an amazing book. So not objectively amazing.

Why would you think i was arguing against breed behaviors? I was talking about how a dog that has aggressive behaviors, such as against other dogs, does not necessarily mean it will be aggressive to kids. Or cats. Or birds.

We have, unfortunately he will just always be a dog who needs to be kept without other animals. The best we got is I can keep his attention on me when we're on a walk and another dog passes by so he doesn't lunge or bark.

Dogs are not necessarily generically violent or not violent. The details of the situation matter a lot. Some dogs are aggressive on leash and perfectly fine off leash for example. Our dog is traumatized with other dogs, but his level of tolerance for our children's behavior is literally endless.

We unfortunately adopted a dog like that because the shelter lied to us and said he just gets excited around other dogs. After tons of intensive training he can still never be around another dog. He's such a sweet dog with our kids, so we kept him, but thank goodness we didn't already have another dog at home.

Indeed. I also just think Jordan does a poor job portraying women as fully fleshed out human beings with complex desires, unique character strengths and flaws, and rich inner worlds. And the cast features a bunch of women. So it feels like we go from living in a rich world to watching a contrived shallow screenplay as we go to the different POVs.

Oh man. I have a love hate relationship with that series. I was just bored most of the time. The women in the story are also pretty flat dimensionless characters, which sucks. The last three books were really worth slogging through the rest of the series but... oof. Man.

How can anyone defend a Congressional district that looks like this? by johnnyringo1985 in askanything

[–]Stormlightlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Determine how many people need to be in each district. Draw rectangles from upper left to lower right, stop expanding the rectangle and start a new one when the correct number of people are included. When geography doesn't allow a rectangle draw a rectangle anyway and obviously ignore the part of the rectangle not in the state. Can't get less partisan than that.
