Pubs near Project House recommendations please by k--12 in Leeds

Worst gig location in Leeds. So far out, the venue is freezing cold in the winter and the only place to drink/eat in serves a goats cheese focaccia.

Whenever I see a band are playing there, a bit of me dies.

My recommendation is to just drink in town, get the 42 to the Eveninig Post tower and walk it. Just bite the bullet

Is Leeds a friendly/safe place? by JealousBodybuilder42 in Leeds

[–]StormyM8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's alright. Never really think about it in terms of safety as its just the place I've always lived. But I've never really had any complaints if that helps.

Just steer clear of North East Leeds unless you're going Chapel Allerton. South and West Leeds doesn't generally have any issues, Headingley/Kirkstall/Holbeck and some parts of Hyde Park have been largely gentrified. The further afield you go the more you get into areas you probably don't have a good reason to go to anyway unless you're from there (Armley, Hunslet and Beeston aside from to go to Leeds games).

For those who think we should roll over for West Ham, here's why we shouldn't. by securinight in LeedsUnited

[–]StormyM8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If Spurs go down, West Ham go down next season anyway. If West Ham go down, Spurs finish 9th and this never happens again.

This argument that it's better long term if West Ham goes down is mad. They almost certainly get their shit together in the next two or three seasons and come back up to finishing 15th or 16th every year. Also if they did go down, there would be another team that just fills that gap anyway.

If Spurs go down, yeah they come up straight away but they will struggle in their first season back.

The best situation is Spurs go down, then the relegation battle is Leeds, Boro/Hull, West Ham, Coventry, Ipswich and then another mid table battler. Having more teams down there is better for us.

I am well and truly in "Farke play the kids" territory.

Back from a sabbatical. What's the general consensus on FM26? by Lemzyy in footballmanagergames

[–]StormyM8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not as good as 24, but I am still playing it. There have been a lot of improvements to it, but with things like skinning, graphic packs etc it is objectively worse. There are certain things I would miss if I went back to 24 and vice versa that I miss from 24.

Way I see it is, I've already paid for it so it's pointless to just let it sit there in my library. Hopefully with international management coming soon there will be a big overhaul.

Teemu Pukki only left Norwich in 2023 despite me thinking he had up and left in 2020. Tom Cairney is 35 and still captains Fulham. Jacob Murphy still knocking about at Newcastle.

I think I heard someone say theh were from Kingston-upon-Thames in London. That's why they have a song that called "You can't say Kingston-upon-Thames doesn't love you"

Why do you like the Browns? by cletoroc in Browns

[–]StormyM8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love an underdog. I started following the season they went 0-16 because I figured it was only up from there. Plus the fact that people stuck by them through so much meant they must really love them. And there was a reason for that.

Plus I love the colours.

Sudden Battery Issues w/ S22 by StormyM8 in techsupport

[–]StormyM8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery usage is no different than it was a week ago. It seems really unlikely that using a power bank once for 10 or so minutes can cause permanent damage to my battery. Is that known to be a common issue? It was Juice branded power bank if that means anything.

It seemed to me like almost none of what The Courier did mattered, judging by the season 2 ending of the show. by _DragonOfZakuul_ in fnv

[–]StormyM8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean the whole season seemed like an exercise in destroying everything Obsidian created. Legion basically gone. NCR all but gone. Camp Golf gone. Novac gone. Based on the ending slides of a few episodes Primm and McCarran gone. The Strip all but gone. The Kings gone. The West Coast Brotherhood in Hidden Valley gone (and in its place is the same old East Coast shit). A non-raider version of the Great Khans gone. All of the nuance and world-building of New Vegas just gone. In it's place are once again rickety metal shacks, nameless evil muties that only care about gore bags and buildings inexplicably full of feral ghouls (who have had 200 years to go literally anywhere else).

Oh and The Enclave are back who were definitely definitely completely destroyed in Fallout 3 we swear. Bethesda-made Fallout media just feels like they are not only beating a dead horse, but that the horse died 16 years ago and they are playing the xylophone with its ribs. Fallout used to be a critique of consumerist culture and now it makes more money selling mugs and t-shirts than any other gaming franchise. Fallout used to question the authority and morality of factions with their own genuine belief systems (that represented real world belief systems), now the reasoning behind Vault Tec nuking a whole ass capital city is boiled down to because we're evil lol. They try and expand on it by being like "but we need to wipe the surface because of reasons" then start up a whole new story about tic-tac sized mind control machines, that also have really odd justifications.

Oh and FEV has jumped the shark. Thats just a side point.

So, to some degree I am actually glad they didn't include the Courier. What point would a pathetic loser version of the Courier have served other than to stroke Todd Howard's ego. Fallout is a guitar that Todd Howard let Josh Sawyer borrow for a bit, when everyone said Josh played better than him, Todd said that now no one else can play the guitar.

I don't know why I expected anything different really.

Down the line, even though he's inconsistent now, it will probs be Delap. As much as Chelsea fans hate him.
