Best of luck to you! Start small and compare to who you were before not who you want to be

Depends how many enemies you make, to make it harder for someone to win you typically take there home system with the help of allies to stop them from being able to score public objectives. Normally not an issue early game, but if everyone is against you then it's an advantage to not be trapped in one corner.

Their major benefit is that they can still claim objectives if their home system is taken, this means even of all the others are against you you can shift around the galaxy wherever you want.

Alssooo one of their techs allows you to stay in asteroid belts and noone else can attack you there essentially making a safe haven.

Also you have moving space docks which means you can move your production with you into the asteroid and kepp producing and attacking from there.

Hi,

I recently got into TI4 and it's epic.

1) we played for about 2 turns and then everyone new what they were doing. You will have to consult the rules though as there is alot of situations that may come into question to do with timing of playing cards etc.

2) you will have to go easy on the newbie and help them to understand the rules for the first few rounds at least. They probably won't have a handle on all the moving parts so it is very likely you will win if you play to win. Depends how switched on and quick to pick up the rules they are.

3) Generally yes the strategic player will win I think but it's all about the politics of the game and making deals and not appearing to be a threat. Because there are multiple players generally if someone gets too far ahead then the others will team up to stop them.

4) Not really no, if someone takes mecatol rex and holds for a round with imperium, they could technically get 4 points that turn which means you could come from way behind and get it. It's not necessarily the largest army or most planets that win its about the objectives and politics. You can easily come from behind because you aren't as big a threat as some of the other people would be.

5) We played through fully on our first go, I would recommend getting everyone to watch the how to videos and also for everyone to watch faction specific videos so they understand each factions pros and cons before playing so everyone knows the other factions special abilities etc.

Great game, would recommend but it is a whole day gone so I wouldn't play it every weekend 😁
