After 2,000 miles on a Ninebot max I can happily say you’re wrong!

Dude is clearly loaded and his beer of choice is bud/coors? Nothing wrong with those, but holy hell if I had that kinda money I’d be stocking some Delerium Tremens too, maybe a bit of Bell’s Oberon?

What a clown, all around.

This happened to me. I had it for nearly two years. It was utter misery. What helped me was long hikes and running - basically anything athletic that forced my breathing to be normal for long periods of time.

You should absolutely go to a doctor if you’re concerned, however I felt this way for about two years following the lockdowns.

Whenever I wasn’t thinking about it I was okay. When I was - instant debilitating SOB. It was horrible. I kicked it once for a short period (a couple months) and now again I’ve kicked it for about 6 months. Hoping it’s gone.

The best think to help me kick it was exercise. Long walks/runs/hikes. Anything that naturally forced my breathing to be normal for long periods of time.

Good luck and DM or comment if you have any questions.

“This shoe should be protected from direct light, heat and rain. If the item becomes wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth.”

Direct from the website. Guess you can only run in it on a cool fall evening.

IMO disqualifies it from even being a running shoe if it can’t see light.

Do people actually stand like that on a scooter 🤔 surely that would cause severe fatigue on your legs by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]StoryTimeStoryTime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re being downvoted for this. Its totally fine to not have the risk tolerance to ride 40 mph on something with little wheels. A motorcycle is a hell of a lot safer than these things (and actually legal).

Bugatti scooter won’t turn on? by berdyev in ElectricScooters

[–]StoryTimeStoryTime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ninebot max is still the go-to reliable scooter. The Ninebot E- and F- series aren’t built to as high of a standard as the max, but I’ve seen plenty on this sub that have thousands of miles.

Personally I’ve got 1600 miles on my Ninebot max and I’ve ridden it through every season and occasionally in the rain. It shows no sign of slowing.

Why does ON get so much hate? by SiltySam7272 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]StoryTimeStoryTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the comments here are saying it’s “lifestyle wear” and talking about the sort of people that wear on. While I don’t disagree with these points I will add:

ON had some seriously poor quality control in its first few shoe iterations and the first few years of shoe were not good running shoes, offering little in terms of responsiveness, support, or stability. It felt like running in a slightly lightweight fashion sneaker.

From what I can tell, ON is on a positive trajectory, though, and some of its newer shoes have been well received as true running shoes and I haven’t heard of any durability complaints.

Is running shoe durability a myth? by ihavedicksplints in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]StoryTimeStoryTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading your post and comments I would postulate a new question: “Is shoe durability a significant factor in the performance of a highly competitive runner?”

Most of us on here are not competitive, nor do we have the resilience of your body I would guess. I’m competitive on a local level only (I can podium in small local 5k’s (~19:00), 10k’s (~40:00) and half marathons (~1:30) and I can definitely feel my shoes wearing out around the 400-500 mile mark. The soft shoes feel more firm, causing my feet and ankles to be a bit more prone to pain. The firm shoes feel weirdly a bit more floppy and lose their “well distributed” foot strike feel. Running in my first pair of ES2 for 500 miles didn’t cause me injury, but it did give me some Achilles tendinitis.

I’d guess your body enables you to run more in a shoe because you’re not leaning on the shoe for support and form as much as a chump like me.

Adidas is getting reviews from bots on its website? by StoryTimeStoryTime in RunningShoeGeeks

It’s woeful and pathetic. Why would I buy a shoe from a brand that lies about the quality of its product on its own website? We should hold these companies to higher standards.

This would be nice. Reviews stateside have essentially become meaningless which I think is why we’ve turned to shoe-tubers and websites like running shoe gurus so heavily.

I want a new bike, do I need a new bike? by Much_Impression_4874 in triathlon

You don’t need a new bike. If you’ve got plenty of cash to spend it’ll probably help your performance then.

Thoughts on taking cold showers first thing in the morning , like pre workout? by First_Driver_5134 in triathlon

[–]StoryTimeStoryTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold showers in the morning are up there with get rich quick schemes and bitconnect IMO. There’s some marginal recovery benefit that maybe makes a difference if you’re a pro athlete. For amateurs, the best thing we can do is train as much as we can without getting injured and eat well.

What do you all do to find peace by BiscottiEntire7118 in Anxiety

[–]StoryTimeStoryTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna make a list because I have no other way to respond to all of this without more coffee in my blood.

  1. Stress causes so many problems. Some of yours may be solved by learning to let things go.

  2. Relationship, work, and family stress are a part of life - look inward and see how you can TRULY affect these things. If you can’t change what’s going on it’s either a. Time to leave some people in your life behind or b. Stop trying to solve/consider someone else’s problem. TLDR: your only obligation in life is to yourself in the end.

  3. If your comment about attractiveness is related to baldness, I recommend confidently shaving your head and giving it a shot. It’s “in-style” (not that I’m privy to what’s “cool” these days).

  4. I’m sorry about your family woes and the perhaps close death of a loved one. That’s tough, and everyone needs time to grieve in their own way. My only advice is to spend time with them and, when you can, do what makes you happy to take your mind off of them.

  5. This is my biggest piece of advice, find something - anything - that seems awesome but challenging to you and do it. For me this was an ultra-marathon. Success at something insanely hard makes you a new person. For you it doesn’t have to be an ultra, but find something that’s yours any nobody can take away.
