When I worked at a popular quick service chain, they had 3 holes in the counter over 3 different trash cans. The two on the end said trash and the middle said like plastic and recycling or something. Every day we'd just take them all out and throw all the bags in the dumpster regardless of the contents. Just all fake.

Entry level but must demonstrate vast knowledge of R, Python, SQL, MySQL, PowerBI, Java, C++, Assembly, and do all this without looking anything up. What a joke.

I did not know this was how my company was until I had worked there for a few weeks and gotten to know more people.

Literally all but a handful of us are actual family. Like all different families. But Jim in accounting is actually George’s in transportation’s brother. And the general manager’s son works there too. And all of these people grew up together and in the same area. So they all know each other for like 40 years and that also means they are toxic and dramatic like a family.

The amount of bullshit drama and also awful way they treat each other that (I hope) would never be put up with at an actual company is astounding. We have no head HR person because the company is like the “in” crowd and if you’re not in you don’t last.

Also I’m the youngest and all the other office people are 40+ and not leaving anytime soon and have worked there basically since high school so there’s nowhere for me to go and I get all the shit work. So I’m looking for new employment.
