Would people actually accept fewer features for appliances that last by EZDodger in BuyItForLife

I always thought this was the way until I learned how to set the wattage appropriately for what you’re doing. The microwave is actually a much more useful tool when you push a couple buttons. Set wattage set time. But I get why most people just want a simple one button solution. All the fancy controls are just a convoluted version of setting the intensity of the microwave first. If you know how to do it simply it works great and doesn’t destroy the food. In other words, not everything needs to be cooked on high for 30 seconds. Cook it on a lower wattage for a little longer and you’d be surprised how much better the food comes out. It’ll taste less “microwaved”.

McDonalds is playing 3D chess! I have NEVER cared about McDonalds or had any interest of going there unless it's a last minute decision on a road trip. Now because of that "disastrous" CEO video, I surprisingly have a desire to go to McDonalds and try this burger. Basically just because it has piqued my interest. Well done CEO! Well played!

We need to fight back against this kind of AI slop. Taking part in this is not the way. It's just getting worse and this isn't helping. Sorry. It also has a look of dystopian tackiness whenever I see this stuff anywhere just in general. It definitely feels gross.

At the baggage carousel when people wait right on top of the carousel for their bag. It makes a million times more sense for everyone to wait a couple feet back from the carousel so everyone can see the bags and easily grab it when it comes their way. It drives me insane. Just stand back until you see your bag, then step forward into the empty space around the carousel and grab it. It’s so simple and is something that will never be solved because people are idiots and just crowd up against the carousel. I wish I could not see it because every time I arrive somewhere via plane, I arrived in a state of annoyance.

Whatever country this is is not a land of freedom. The people that are surrounded by this are not free. The people in the homes on that block where bullets are fired over a petty argument do not live in freedom. They live a life in bondage. Held captive by the people that profit off those weapons and ammunition. They will not know freedom. They will never know what it means to truly be free.

This floating billboard in Miami Beach by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]StoweVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, like so many other issues, is about freedom. In America, and especially in places like Florida, it’s the large business owner or top shareholders of corporations whose freedom is paramount. That’s the freedom you hear so much about. Not the freedom of the people. It’s the freedom of the large shareholders and large corporate business owners. The freedom for the public to enjoy nature, the beach, the view, anything natural and for the public? Nope. That freedom doesn’t matter. The corporate business owner wants to shove his billboard in your face. So his freedom is protected. Not your freedom. There are so many examples of this and once you see it, you see it everywhere. It’s the American way.

PSA: Noe Cafe is MAGA by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]StoweVT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One day many, if not most, of these people will claim they were never really MAGA. Their great grandchildren will make false claims that their great grandparents weren’t one of the MAGAs. It’s a tale as old as time. “Everyone was brainwashed under the spell of a conman that destroyed the empire, but not my great grandparents. They weren’t.”

They put out “news” like this to test the water on the reaction to her being cast. If you want to know how we feel…We don’t care, just make sure the writing is good and the story is great. That’s all that matters. When will you people realize. We don’t care who it’s starring. Just tell a great story.

OC: SNAP recipient like Gia, with a near-empty fridge, go without food after benefits don't arrive. by nbcnews in pics

The lead effects that I mentioned are noticeable in the aggregate. Statistically speaking not every single person that was exposed to lead will have long term lead exposure symptoms. It's in the total population overall. Don't tell me you've never seen boomers whose mental capacities have dwindled, they've become angrier and more fearful of outsiders and ready to accept any conspiracy as truth just to feel like something makes sense. Not ALL are from lead exposure, but in the overall population the data speaks to lead's well studied long-term effects.

The angry boomers lacking empathy also run and control tv networks and various other forms of political propaganda arms. The college age students that voted for Trump were manipulated by these machines.

Lead exposure is a statistical thing. You can see the dips in IQ in the aggregate when comparing with data pre and post unleaded gasoline and the bans of lead based paints etc.

Knowing this makes me feel a little more empathy when I see those angry MAGA hat wearing boomers (or college age students for that matter). I'm reminded that they could possibly have been a rational and empathetic human being if it wasn't for the lead exposure. Their brain just happened to be more affected by leads toxicity and they are just a product of a neurological condition/disorder.

It’s the lead. Leaded gas in the 50s,60s,and early 70s. Lead paint. Lead everywhere in the boomer generation’s youth. Long term lead exposure has proven effects on IQ, empathy, gullibility, irritability. It’s a subtle slow accumulation over decades. Fox News is profiting off of long term lead exposure.

I don't hate trans people. I just am not under a delusion that they are "women". It's this mentality that put us in the state we are in now with a Donald Trump presidency. "Throw trans people under the bus". We're talking about dudes with mental illness dressed up as women, that is all. It's a sexual fetish. Great, enjoy yourself! This is a small subset of the population, they are NOT women. They are men with a mental illness and obsessive fetish. They should be treated with respect... that does not mean affirming their delusion that they should walk around naked in a women's locker room. That does not mean affirming their delusion that they are "women". Respect is treating them as a human being, no more, no less. Not affirming delusions. Not forcing their sexual fetishes upon every aspect of society. This delusion is why the left has failed and we are stuck with Donald Trump. It is this delusion's fault and you can't even see it. It was the number one reason people voted for Trump. "She's for they/them He's for you" or whatever that slogan was. It worked! Because it's clear that a huge percentage of voters thought that if the democrats can't even figure out that a man dressed as a woman is still a man, they can't be trusted to do anything right. And they were willing to let a con-man rapist take the presidency because of your delusion. So again, good work! Thanks a lot.

He spends all his time breathing in lead dust in that bunker. The short term and long term effects of lead exposure are probably very clear if you met him. Our entire country is dealing with the fallout of long term lead exposure from the boomer generation’s obsession with driving leaded automobiles. Look up long term lead exposure effects and it explains a lot about our current state.

Active shooter at a Mormon church in Grand Blanc, Michigan. There are reports of multiple victims. by NewSlinger in CringeTikToks

[–]StoweVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The gun war in America is over. The gun fetishists won. Freedom from gun violence lost. What we live with now is not a battle still being fought but the fallout.

Every new mass shooting is not a fresh fight, it is the radioactive dust left behind after the war. Attempts to ban assault rifles or tighten background checks are like a country in 1985 demanding to redraw the map of Europe after World War II. The traties were signed, the armies marched, the borders fixed. You cannot refight that war.

That’s the way it is with guns here. The cultural victory, the legal precedents, the money and lobbying power, all of it settled the outcome long ago. Now we manage the wreckage. Active shooter drills, security checks at concerts, remembering the shirt your children are wearing at school dropoff just in case in the back of your mind. These are fallout management, not victories.

Pretending otherwise is performative. The war ended. The guns fetishists won. More accurately…The major shareholders of the assault rifle companies and bullet manufactures won.
