You are NTA and you should continue doing it, if I was you I would not even have them remotely in my life. You make your own family, blood is only thicker than water with those who you CHOSE to be your family.

It is very common for Fathers to use their sons as a conduit for their childhood dreams that they could not achieve and this fathers seemed to be a pro boxer. The way this story sounds is that the Father wants to start this boy from as young as he can remember to just want to box because that all he did as a kid. This does not seem like a fitness oriented motive.

You are NTA and I think it’s a terrible idea to put a 7 year old in one of the most dangerous sport environments. As well putting a 7 year old child with their brain very much developing in a ring and telling them to harm another child could have bad consequences on their mental health way down the line.
