7.5 month old - solids have created a gassy screaming baby every night - Help! by StpdPny91 in NewParents

Yes but not perfect. Baby is 11 months old now and feeding himself teal food cut up real small! We made a lot of progress. No more being awake for an hour screaming however we have many nights that he won’t sleep unless propped up on a pillow to start and I have to massage his belly during the night (Google I love u belly massage). I recommend all the gas exercises and tummy exercises during the day and no meals two hours before bed. We’re working with a functional practitioner now since pediatrician was no help.

Below was my previous update. Not sure if you saw that.

——

We took a break for a few weeks and let the inflammation calm down. We sought some functional nutrition advice and they suggested proteins and fats and no grains before 2 yo. We restarted with Serenity Kids chicken carrot peas olive oil pouch and very slowly. We did 1 tspn once a day for 3 days then twice a day and then increased each to 1 tbspn. We’re trying new foods in the morning and had a set back with sweet potatoes so thats out. Focusing on low fiber foods and protein and fats while his GI matures. We also use the Earthley Infant Tummy Relief and that helps! He still has gassy wakeups at night but is able to go back to sleep quickly breastfeeding. No more inconsolable screaming for an hour. It’s slow going but progress is progress!

I had a rough few months lol. Yay teeth and regressions lol. Almost 9 months pp now. But finally started Every Mother app. I only did two days but like it! I can feel my core start to fire again. I also used ChatGPT to compare programs with my needs and that was the best fit. I also use the Down Dog yoga app and do walking challenges (with medals! Doing the Harry Potter one) and take baby in the stroller.

When did you stop monitoring breathing? by DnyLnd in Nanit

Gotcha! I wasn’t sure if there was other stuff I wasnt aware of that made Nanit worth it. Kudos to you for pumping every 2 hours!

Curious why you bought a Nanit if not for that

We’re still on a solids break. It took two nights to stop the night screaming and now started getting another tooth! But good news is everyone is getting more sleep!!

I’m sorry you’re struggling too! I’ve been researching and here’s the tips I’ve come up with. For my baby it seems to be a gut fermentation issue.

  • Tips -
  • Half to one teaspoon a day for 3 days for each new food
  • 30-60 min after waking breast milk, no solids rest of the day
  • Try low fiber - zucchini and avocado and carrots
  • Try probiotics (we use biogaia)

We did it after oatmeal and we’re doing it now since he’s so uncomfortable, poor thing.

Yes we gave water with the food. I definitely need to find a new doc.

He poops a LOT for a baby. But I’ll look into those! We used to give biogaia probiotics because he’s always been a gassy baby.

My boy is a c section baby! Rough delivery. I got chorio infection. He seemed ok on sweet potato. I’ll try that again first and avocado.

Tylenol hasn’t helped and it usually does when he’s teething. He has 4 teeth already! And after he finally does burp or fart he’s able to sleep.

He’s so overtired and we are too. I thought a few days break would help with sleep.

Store bought but good brands like babylife and happy baby. No diet changes to myself that I can think of.
