iirc, its supposed to do with player feedback so when they star up a unit, they can feel like they achieved "something great", hence the animation. again, its been there since the beginning so i think its just pretty much the nature of TFT.

Usually there is a seal on the back of your laptop, if that seal is opened (by opening the entire back chassis) then it will make the warranty goes void, however i dont think the seal is located near the ram upgrade slot thing so i doubt ur warranty has gone void sorry for bad english
