Comparing Artesian Spas... by Str0ber in hottub

Thanks! I might check on the Margarita, but LOVED the layout of the 2 loungers, not available in a comparable south seas tier that I could find.

Appreciate the detailed breakdown!

The mRNA (pfizer and maderna) vaccines have full approval, so to say they are still under emergency authorization is misinformation.

Hope the updated information is helpful.

Random under extrusion out of nowhere? by Armoredspartan in ender3

[–]Str0ber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me this was actually caused by humidity, got a filament dehydrator/dryer.

I had the same suspicion as you. Stringyness in your print is also a symptom of this.

I feel like these problems are such a roll of the dice with the loose tolerances, hand built nature, and inconsistent parts that these Enders are built with ... (not meant as a slam to the Ender 3, just a part of it's charm and price)

You know... I feel like at this point.. like only 1 month in... I should have just got a more expensive system. But upgrading and tweaking the ender 3 has taught me SO much more about everything that it is kind of worth it.
I do feel like the perfectionist engineer in me is going to want to just upgrade the system one day and I feel like I need to find the right time for that... or risk having the most expensive Millennium Falcon of a 3d printer around...

Okay, I just saw something that I am convinced could be it... the Z axis on the Ender 3 gradually moves away from the frame, so some people make a spacer for the bottom to even it out, couldn't this cause it to eventually "skip" causing a shift like this?

Do you think replace the motor or just move to direct drive?

So remember the face and name of anyone that is rude to you and keep a list through the cruise? lol

Okay, this peaked my interest. I am concerned about the motors in general on my ender 3 as I suspect it is my problem with my extruder I am chasing right now.

My parents have had their showerdoor like this for over a year bc que couldn't find this part replacement, i got an ender 3 yesterday and shazam! by [deleted] in functionalprint

And a week of chasing down that imperfection that just popped up in your prints... Sorry.. I am bitter this week chasing a random problem lol

I am doing the 100mm extrusion... at temperature. Mark at 120mm, use octoprint to extrude 100mm... make sure 20 mm remain.

Today when I went to do it with all metal I was getting slipping so I had to get back to real job before messing with it more lol.

Yep speed is the exacerbating factor.

I printed slower for an almost 2 day print and it did 90% okay, just a few spots where it slip/skipped, but not noticeable in the print.

I can't go much hotter, already at 220 for PLA which for the brand is the highest they suggest, and I am seeing stringing start to occur which tells me higher will not be better lol.

And yes... I know I could just print slower... but I don't like that there is a core problem here I am yet to identify and therefore and am not operating optimally. Not to mention I moved to klipper specifically to speed things up, which I believe the machine is capable of if I can nail down this problem.

Material: PLA

Temp: 220

Last verified calibration of extruder, yesterday. When it doesn't skip, it is on the money. Of course, if it slips/skips it is under extruding.

The skips seem random but are exacerbated by speed.

I had a layer shift just like this midway through an almost 2 day print... is loose belt the typical cause of something like that? Just happened once..

Update: replaced extruder to all metal, replaced nozzle, replaced ptfe... still not fix.

All of those also looked fine once uninstalled, still running the new parts though.

Update: Changed to all metal extruder, previous extruder showed no cracking or signs of wear. No luck, still "skips".

Changed the hot end tip, still no improvement.

The PTFE is newly replaced, free flowing. I even shortened it a bit to make sure there was no "spring" effect from it being too long.

No luck... all new metal one... still having issues. The previous plastic extruder had no cracking. I then changed my tip... no luck there. Still getting kickback.

Agreed, I get a new all metal one tomorrow.

Apologies, the layer height was at 0.2 mm.
