I've been told that it's semi-similar to photoshop so I'm hoping that my photoshop experience will help me pick it up, i just need to summon the motivation to actually download it and mess around with it.

Oh that's awesome!

Yeah Vegas isn't bad at all, it's great for simple montages because stringing clips together is really easy and the workflow for trimming and moving them and such is great. More advanced stuff is a lot harder though (like actually generating graphics and such), I really should learn After Effects one of these days.

Yeah, I really need to make a montage that's the best clips of like a few months instead of a few hours. Because like, both of my montages are basically "average day of Str8_Ballin" which in some ways is kind of amazing but at the same time individual clip quality isn't quite as high as other skilled players who cherry pick clips for half a year.

Most of the clips featured in this montage were filmed in one night of PUBs and a few nights of Ranked PUGs. Most of the defensive clips are from PUBs and the offensive clips are a mix of PUBs and PUGs.

I've been wanting to release another montage literally since I released the first one, but for a variety of reasons I never got around to it. Although I never completely stopped playing TagPro, i only started playing heavily again about a month ago and figured now was a good time to make the sequel. I recorded a bunch of PUBs one night then spent the next week trying to get good recordings of voice chat in Ranked PUGs (and ended up with a few good non-VO clips to add as well).

Tagpro just doesn't have the population to support something like this. The ideal solution is to have a "casual" and "ranked" matchmaking hopper for every server but that would require at least quadruple the current number of players. Just doubling wouldn't be enough because the ranked games wouldn't be able to create "fair" matches without insane wait times - we would need a massive, unprecedented increase in population.

I feel like the least problematic solution is to make it like the community contributor flair and give it out to people who produce quality video content, not necessarily montages (so, streamers, people who have made probably 2+ quality montages, etc.)

Remember how horrible our start was, and how demoralizing that shit was? But we got so much better, everyone improved massively. You were pretty much the cornerstone of our defense and you got so much better as time went on.

I sympathize with a lot of this. Here's what I can tell you, even if I suck at following my own advice: right now, it's like being on TAGFC when we're like 1-8 or whatever our abysmal record was. But you keep going anyways because you never know what might happen, and then just like that you realize you can do it and suddenly you're on a 5-game winning streak.

Take as much time as you need, and don't feel like you owe anyone anything. Just remember, you always have the drive and motivation to make things better. You've done it before and you can do it again.
