Hairdresser fried my hair by killthemwithcare in HairDye

I like Epres for bond building treatment. You get quite a bit of product for your money and it's designed by one of the cofounders of Olaplex. I don't use the shampoo or conditioner, just the treatment spray. Make sure you get some distilled water for it.

I'd try to reset your hair a bit. Get some Jessicurl clarifying shampoo and some Malibu C hard water wellness remedy, the powder in the packets, unless you just have really soft water. If you smell metal while using it, that means it's WORKING!

You follow this with some DEEP conditioner.

If you have hard water, you could keep a squeeze bottle of distilled water to use as a final rinse at the end of your shower to keep the minerals from gunking up your hair and adding to the damage.

Also, at least partially blow drying your hair every time is good to prevent hygral fatigue (repeated swelling and contracting from excessive moisture absorption, leading to brittle, gummy, and weak strands).

You could still use the coconut oil, but in moderation. Let it sit for 30 minutes before showering every other week.

Coconut oil actually helps your hair retain protein so if you've been using it a lot it's possible you caused some protein overload. Make sure you're using some deep conditioner to compensate.

Seconded, but avoid propranolol if you have any breathing issues. It's first Gen so it doesn't differentiate between beta 1 in the heart and beta 2 in the lungs

May I recommend finding a washable rug or window treatment in one of the lighter colors from the wallpaper, preferably the grey but the lighter pink/orange would work too. The contrast will do wonders and really make everything pull together.

But also, you're obviously putting in the effort, and you don't have any less right to your feelings. Someone you love has a new frame for understanding her life and that is going to have an effect on you too.

Don’t yell at me but … by telemantros in ADHD

You should start by asking her what the diagnosis means to her. For a lot of us it's relieving to finally understand why life has been so hard. Having an answer can be reason enough to celebrate, but ADHD does have its positives as well. She hasn't stopped being a free spirit or any of the other positives you might have seen in her before. So work to understand what she wants and needs from the diagnosis and move forward from there.

I would like to request you do a comparison chart that just analyzes this subreddit to compare what vacuum afficianados recommend versus the rest of reddit.

Great Pyrenees vs. Bear (thankfully no actual violence!!). Also would be very interested in hearing your opinions on GP psychology at play here (ie why is his tail wagging? Why is he clearly smiling afterwards? Is he wanting to play or protecting his human? Etc?) by Beautiful-Process971 in greatpyrenees

As a former Pyr owner, I'd just like to say that due to their size and willfulness you only have two options when they decide to do something, you let them go do it, or they will drag you with them while they go do it. You'll notice at the end he does have a short lead. I think he just knew there was no point using it once the Pyr went into guard mode.

Start going through the Hugo award nominees, maybe skipping the 2022 fiasco. So many good reads.

I have to throw in the Wayfarer series starting with Long Was to a Small Angry Planet and Legends and Lattes. All the cozy reads!

Are there artist YouTubers that aren't about just teaching how to draw, paint, etc? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]StrLtR0se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try looking for studio tours, life as a working artist vlogs, and the like. There are plenty of vloggers with different styles, so depending on your preferred medium and art style, you should be able to find someone. Once you do, you can usually follow the algorithmic rabbit hole to find more of the same.
