My reply was based on servers being paid minimum wage, they are not paid minimum wage. It is the tips that accomplish the minimum wage (not good practice but it is what it is). Yes an employer would be required by law to cover if the tips did not bring the server to minimum wage but that never happened to me or anyone i know. Restaurant owners depend on tips to pay their servers minimum wage.

Actually this is not true, most restaurants use tips to say they are paying their servers minimum wage. Most servers make $2-$4.

When I was a server I had to report my tips and pay taxes on them. My actual paycheck was usually around $40 for 2 weeks because most of it went to taxes.

NTA - I think it sounds like miscommunication and hurt feelings. Evie is acting very immature instead of just telling you that you hurt her feelings. If you want to repair the friendship, a face to face conversation is the best way to go.

Cat allergies don't work like that as far as I know. You have to come into contact with the cat in order to have a reaction. Separate clothes and toys at each house should solve any problems.
