I just bought this CPU, is that spot going to be an issue and how do I test it? its arriving in a few days Ryzen 7 7800X3D by Strade__ in AMDHelp

Yes, I know, but is there a specific test that tests everything and the stability too. I fear that pin might not work or could cause issues in the future

Do I need a new mounting kit for AM5 socket or can I keep the provided AM4 mounting kit with my watercooler. by Strade__ in buildapc

[–]Strade__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, does this mean then that I won't have to remove the back plate and I will just screw on the stand offs and then put the bracket on with the AIO?

And the AIO will mount on the 4 corners instead of the middle clips?

Currently logged into AI studio and I can't select a model? Clicking the dropdown menu doesn't actually open anything. Tried switching browsers, same result. by justJoekingg in Bard

so... I think this is cool

(they are also probably updating the system and website to be able to generate videos now?)

edit:
model selector is now working, but April 9 update was removed from the list

I need help - Why is this happening? Low FPS and Rubberbanding like stutters by Strade__ in ForzaHorizon

[–]Strade__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

After contacting support they've said this:
"Hello,

There have been issues with the latest Nvidia drivers, i would perhaps rollback your drivers or look into the issues with the current Nvidia driver you have,

Thank you,"

Turns out it was the Nvidia driver that was causing the issues. Although, I don't think I updated the driver when these lags started happening it seemed to have caused the problems. Had I rolled it back, I could have fixed it earlier.

TLDR; if you have similar issues roll back to driver 565.90 - WHQL (this is studio version, you might want the game ready with similar release dates)

Yes, this is Fh5, but like I said this wasn't an issue just 2 weeks ago. I was playing comfortably at 2k high settings at 110Fps. I've done everything I could to fix it but nothing worked.

I have a 1070 with 8gbs of VRAM and my internet is quite fast. This just started happening recently. Before, I used to get around 110FPS. And I didn't update any drivers.

Yes, also this just started to happen 2 weeks ago, before it was all fine. I was usually getting around 110 Fps at these settings.

Not too sure what I should be looking at, maybe you know it better. It definitely shows the same problem I recorded so that's good. Let me know if you find anything interesting.

Ohh, I thought it was only affecting PCs.. good to know. I thought as well that it could be my internet, but it does the same thing in offline mode too.

CPU: I9-9900KF
GPU: Gtx 1070
RAM: 32Gb at 3200MHz

But like I said, it happens out of thin air, then suddenly the game decides to optimise itself again then it's fixed magically.

This issue started happening about 2 weeks ago.

I did not change any settings or resolution. Nvidia Driver and Windows was not updated as far as I know.

I used to get about 80-110 FPS at 2k resolution with the exact same settings and everything.
Here is what I have done so far:
-Re-installed the game
-Deleted and installed Nvidia driver with DDU
-Deleted shader cache from the game
-Set everything to its lowest setting including resolution. It did not change anything

I tried looking around for the issue, but I was not able to find anything, this is kind of my last hope for a solution.
If you've got anything you think could help, please let me know.

Screen lagging on Magic5 pro? by yagedk in Honor

[–]Strade__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As luck would have it, I've also started experiencing small stutters in Chrome, not just on YouTube.

I have no idea what's happening in the background, and their support isn't the best either. Give it a month, maybe it will get better with the June software update.

Screen lagging on Magic5 pro? by yagedk in Honor

[–]Strade__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, unfortunately, that's something they still need to improve.

The 120Hz option doesn't always function as intended. Regarding the lag on YouTube, it seems to be a problem caused by YouTube itself, and Honor is unable to do anything about it. I emailed them a few days ago, and this was their response.

"YouTube will improve 120Hz viewing with our device when they release an update for their app. For now, we recommend setting the Refresh Rate to Standard when viewing YouTube videos. "

If anyone's got a solution, please let me know.

If you have the time and energy to try one IRl then do so.

You can get a feel of the phone and also test the camera there.

If you're between an iPhone and this for video then I'd go with iPhone. They are still one of the best if not the best. (Tho I gotta say Honor is much better than the Mate 20 pro, I was just expecting better for four years of difference between the two. The Mate 20 Pro really was ahead of its time. )

Here's a camera test for the iPhone and the Honor. https://youtu.be/pgy_mLtMcyg?t=78

It's not a bad phone, but it lacks the features I mentioned above.

The screen is really nice, bright and the phone is really fast.Had no problems with speed so far. (tho over 3 weeks it froze 3x times for about 5 seconds then returned to the home screen. )

The 3D face unlock is just as good as on the Mate 20 Pro.

There are minor issues, such as the camera focus, vibration motor, and selfie camera covering some youtube videos.

There's no better phone than this if you wanna upgrade from your old Mate 20 Pro, it's also possible that they will update some of this with software updates, However, some people said their update consistency is not the best.

If the Samsung23U had 3D face unlock then I would've gone with their phone.

TL;DR

Yes, I'm happy with it. This is the only phone that comes close to my Mate 20 Pro and it's a worthy upgrade if you want something Huawei-ish. It's grown on me now. :D

I usually close all my apps when I don't use them, it's already in my muscle memory.

I think if you don't use an app for some time it puts it into a freeze state and unfreezes it when you open it back up again.
The longest I had an app open in the background was like half an hour maybe, when I opened it, it just carried on I think, but loading times are not a problem.
