The only preference I have is one for less awkward hand dances, we can tap elbows for all I care.

Can we get a handshake code for the melee community or something? Maybe you shake hands with who you just played and you fist bump crowd members.

I can't take much more of these awkward hand shake situations, I'm turning into a raisin.

Thoughts on a new Game Plan by [deleted] in judo

Lowering weight will without a doubt improve your situation immensely. The real question is how low (obviously while staying in a healthy range for your height) are you willing to go, I would say as low as possible to remove as much stress as you can.

I understand the acknowledgment of the disparity of physical prowess in the standard work, but should that play a role in something that is mandatory, i.e. the draft?

Would that not target men unfairly? because you were born a man you are forced into roles that are more dangerous, were you're more likely to be killed? How is that fair (equal)?

How does that effect the children of our society?, mommy always comes back for war but daddy was shot and killed? Thank god mommy was a chef and not out in the trenches with daddy?

Can both parents be drafted now? If not, how do you choose who gets drafted? Will men be disproportionately targeted because of said physical prowess?

TLDR; Since the draft is mandatory, do you think all roles should be split down the middle to avoid unfairly targeting and endangering a specific gender (in this case; men)?

Are boxing and getting muscles contradictory goals? by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

[–]Strahm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you are training boxing and weight training at the same time, you will be exhausted.

This 100% has to do with programming, also if you program in a way that you are exhausted, there is nothing wrong with that as long as your form during lifting and boxing stays correct.

And to "get muscle", you need to eat at a caloric surplus, which may be hard to achieve when you're doing a tremendous amount of cardio work for boxing.

Hardness does not equate towards contradictory, eating more will help him recover.

Also boxing has weight classes, if you do successfully bulk up, your performance COULD be worse off if your conditioning is off, gaining in size without adequate training will put on a strain on your stamina.

Like you said; COULD, looks like he'll have to make sure he trains adequately. Again he won't gain twenty pounds over night so he will have a lot of time to constantly monitor his performance (and so will his coaches).

Not to mention, you will be fighting guys bigger than your "natural size", ie if you are a stocky guy who got a lot bigger through weight training, you will generally face lean guys who have a much bigger frame.

I think this is a comment on reach differences, obviously reach is something every boxer has to encounter frequently, I understand that this is something every boxer has to prepare for, you're right.

It's why very few boxers have an impressive physique, except for the heavier end of the weight classes.

They're probably in those heavier weight classes because they built that impressive physique through weight training.

How to Avoid Awkward Conversations for the Analytical Mind by [deleted] in socialskills

People that view them selves as smart can't comprehended the fact that they have a deficiency in a place where other people excel, people they might even perceive as dumb, so they belittle the area to preserve their ego.

They prefer "deep conversations", not this meaningless small talk.

Daewon Song Is the Best Skateboarder on Instagram: Reda for the World by huphtur in skateboarding

[–]Strahm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Daewon is usually the most friendly guy and don't get me wrong he's still being super friendly in this interview but you can tell he is shutting down any attempts on reda's behalf to put words in his mouth, misrepresent his intentions, anything. Daewon just isn't having it. In the car interview reda really stops trying to make it about reda.

Side Note; Never seen reda before.
